San Marino Special Cup 2025 kicks off tomorrow
The San Marino Special Cup returns to Montecchio tomorrow – organised in partnership by the Football Federation, the Federazione Sammarinese Sport Speciali and Special Olympics San Marino. The five-a-side football competition, featuring teams made up entirely of Special Olympics athletes, will once again bring colour to the Centro Federale di Fonte dell'Ovo on 20-21 September, with a burst of energy and enjoyment that is anything but ordinary. The tournament once more confirms its strong appeal across the whole of Italy, with eight teams from various Regions set to take on the San Marino side. Specifically, the teams registered for the tournament, in addition to San Marino, are: ASD Albano Primavera, Parma Special, ASD Calcio Veneto, Soccer Dream Fermana, Sportinsieme Castellarano, Associazione Fuorigioco ODV, Insuperabili Firenze and Sport “In” …Veneto. The competition is fully part of the activities linked to FSGC’s social responsibility projects.
The event was presented this afternoon at Casa del Calcio in a dedicated press conference. The heads of the two sports federations were in attendance: Filiberto Felici and Bruno Muccoli (FSSS), together with Marco Tura and Luigi Zafferani (FSGC), reiterated the harmony and excellent relations between the two organisations, underlining how the San Marino Special Cup holds a special place in the activity calendars of both. The event which, as can be easily understood, goes far beyond the scope of mere sporting competition, will unfold over a two-day programme. On Saturday 20 September the fixtures will follow a round-robin format, used to produce a provisional table for the preliminary phase. On Sunday, in fact, three triangular groups will determine the final positions in the San Marino Special Cup 2025 standings.
