Titano Futsal Cup: Domagnano and Tre Fiori reach semi-finals, holders knocked out

Folgore and Juvenes-Dogana now know the names of the opponents they will face next Monday in the Titano Futsal Cup semi-finals. There was no need for penalties or even extra time to decide the winners of the two quarter-finals played last night in Fiorentino. In the first of the two matches, Tre Fiori claimed a convincing win over Virtus. Bugli’s side built almost their entire four-goal haul in the first half: between the 6th and 8th minutes the Gialloblù struck a deadly one-two through Gasperoni and Rossini. Then, just before the interval, Cevoli further stretched the lead, while the final seal on the victory and qualification was applied by Zafferani late in the game. It was at roughly the same stage of the evening that Domagnano pieced together their win over Fiorentino, who therefore see their title defence come to an end. The clash between the Giallorossi and the Rossoblù was tightly locked, and only opened up on 51 minutes, when Menghi found the time and space to beat Geri and put the Wolves ahead. Barely moments later came Belloni’s thunderous strike to make it 2-0, a scoreline that remained unchanged until the final whistle despite Fiorentino’s late attempts to get back into the contest, also resorting to the flying goalkeeper. On Monday evening it will therefore be Juvenes-Dogana v Tre Fiori and Folgore v Domagnano, with a place in the 9 May final at stake. Here is the quarter-final line-up of the Titano Futsal Cup:
