Titano Futsal Cup: seven teams to bow out tomorrow night

The evening in Fiorentino will kick off with the clash between Faetano and Tre Fiori, the team from the Castello where the match will be played. The Gialloblù already have one foot in the quarter-finals, buoyed by the 4-1 first-leg win inflicted on Gualtieri’s men. Should they reach the next stage, they will face the winner of Virtus vs Murata, with the outcome of that tie not expected before at least 23:00. The first meeting between the Neroverdi and the Bianconeri ended in a 2-2 draw, between two sides who are evenly matched also in terms of prestige. As a result, sixty minutes may not be enough to decide who goes through and, if required, the match will go to two extra-time periods and then, if still level, to a penalty shoot-out. The derby of the Castello of Borgo Maggiore between Cailungo and Libertas will open proceedings tomorrow evening on the Domagnano court. Here too the Granata are practically through to the quarters barring a miracle, as in the first leg, somewhat surprisingly, they put four past their “cousins”. Whoever advances will face the winner of the Serravalle derby, which will see Folgore and Cosmos go head-to-head, also on the court of the namesake Castello, at the same time as the other tie. This match also has the odds firmly stacked in favour of the team from Falciano, both because they start from the 2-0 first-leg lead and because Muccioli’s men, after winning on the opening day of the league, have lost every game since. Fiorentino, who are already qualified for the next phase as holders of the trophy, will face the winner of Domagnano vs San Giovanni. The Wolves already have one foot in the quarter-finals thanks to the 4-1 victory over the Rossoneri in the first 60 minutes. By contrast, Corbelli’s side have yet to find the right balance in this complicated start to the season. The last quarter-final pairing will pit, on one side, the winner of Juvenes-Dogana vs Pennarossa and, on the other, La Fiorita vs Tre Penne. Both matches will kick off at 21:45. The first is likely to be a match with an outcome in the balance right up to the final whistle between two evenly matched sides. Slight favourites are Casadei’s men, who will have to defend their 3-2 first-leg advantage. If Levani’s team win by a single goal, the tie will go to extra time and, if still undecided, to penalties. The same cannot be said for the meeting between the Gialloblù and the Biancazzurri, with Galli’s team able to manage the 7-1 margin established in the first leg. This is the schedule for the second legs of the round of 16 of the Titano Futsal Cup 2023-24:
