Titano Futsal Cup: Virtus hit six past Faetano and book quarter-final spot

The final question mark has also been removed: Virtus, in action last night in the second leg of the Titano Futsal Cup round of 16, sweep aside Faetano with three goals per half and book a double date in the quarter-finals with Juvenes-Dogana. It is Giuliano Sensoli who opens the scoring for Pollini’s men: his goal on 5 minutes throws the qualification race wide open again, effectively halving the aggregate deficit after the 2-0 defeat in the first leg. Further strikes from Rossini and Righi complete the turnaround, sending Virtus in at the interval 3-2 up on aggregate, with half an hour still to play. On the restart, Alex Pascucci pushes qualification towards Acquaviva, adding a fourth within the first minute. Omar El Attar, later sent off at the end of the match, scores the goal that tries to drag Faetano back into contention. However, Corbelli’s side are unable to find the net again and Tamagnini and Pazzaglia are then able to apply the finishing touches, sealing Virtus’ qualification for the quarter-finals.
