UEFA: assignments in Nyon and Bern for Barducci and Rondelli
Different roles, same level of international commitment in coordination with UEFA for Raffaele Barducci and Paolo Rondelli. The latter, a long-serving UEFA Delegate, has been appointed for Young Boys-Leipzig this evening (18:45). At the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern, the Swiss and German sides will kick off the Group G fixtures in the UEFA Champions League, which also features reigning champions Manchester City. The Sammarinese official will work in close contact with a top-level UEFA Referee Observer: none other than Roberto Rosetti, tasked with assessing the performance of the Albanian refereeing team led by Enea Jorgji. There will also be an Italian in the VAR room: Marco Guida will be supported in digital monitoring by Dutch official Dieperink.
A Swiss trip, already completed, also featured on the agenda of Raffaele Barducci. In Nyon on 12-13 September for the Women's Football Lead Day, he joined representatives of ten other European football associations in working groups focused on the development of women's football. Many topics were covered, from marketing, communications and competition development to Grassroots and the UEFA HatTrick project. It was a valuable opportunity for cross-cutting exchanges on working methods and strategies adopted in different footballing contexts across the continent, all aimed at promoting the growth of the women’s game. Finally, UEFA outlined – for each thematic area – the objectives set for the near future and the resources being invested to support a path of constant growth for European women’s football.
