UEFA, FSGC and the Government of San Marino sign Human Rights Declaration ahead of UEFA Regions’ Cup 2025
UEFA continues to promote an inclusive culture in which no one can be discriminated against on the basis of their personal characteristics. In 2025, UEFA published an ESG Strategy (Environmental, Social and Governance) dedicated to the Regions’ Cup 2025. Among the key elements, particular emphasis is placed on the growing responsibility of sports organisations to act as a catalyst for human rights and social progress, with the aim of preventing any violations and fostering a culture of respect and inclusion.
Within the Human Rights Declaration, clear responsibilities are assigned to the organisers, the participating associations, the public authorities and all those involved in operational activities, with regard to the respect, protection and promotion of human rights. The document can be consulted here and has been approved at the highest level of each of the sporting and governmental bodies involved, which are also ensuring its wide circulation both internally and externally. The Human Rights Declaration therefore serves as the fundamental framework for the respect and protection of human rights at the upcoming UEFA Regions’ Cup 2025.
