UEFA Futsal Champions League: Murata in Budapest, first match tomorrow

In recent months Murata have changed a lot, but their desire to make their mark in Europe remains intact. Last year Spada’s men came very close to a historic qualification in the UEFA Futsal Champions League, winning two of their three matches. This year Screti’s Bianconeri will be looking first and foremost to take inspiration from those exploits, fully aware of the obstacles that lie ahead. In Group D of the Preliminary Round they will face Kosovo’s Drenica, Turkey’s Sakarya Karasu and Hungary’s Ujpest. And it is precisely against the latter – the hosts at the Amália Sterbinszky Sports Hall in Budapest – that the San Marino champions will begin their campaign, kicking off at 19:00 tomorrow. The following day, at 16:00, they will take on Drenica, while on Friday 28 August, at 15:00, it will be against Sakarya Karasu that Screti’s side will wrap up the mini-tournament – hoping to celebrate an extension of their European adventure. In this regard, it is worth remembering that only the group winners will advance to the Main Round.
