UEFA in San Marino for Grassroots-focused meeting
The UEFA visit on Grassroots football, which over four days saw a FSGC team working alongside two representatives of European football’s governing body, Vladimir Luptak and Vito Di Gioia, came to an end on Friday. It was a cordial meeting, focused on an in-depth analysis of key issues related to grassroots football, for which the San Marino FA had prepared extensively, producing a substantial body of material including over one hundred slides and documents. During the closing session on Friday morning, the final observations from the visit were presented, including both the strengths and the critical areas of San Marino Grassroots. In a few weeks’ time, UEFA will issue the official report on this four-day visit, which will provide the FSGC with a clear snapshot of the health of its grassroots football, including UEFA’s assessment of our work and current activities, and undoubtedly also appropriate suggestions for the improvements to be pursued. Beyond the final feedback, however, the FSGC, through its Head of the Grassroots Department, Carlo Chiarabini, expressed satisfaction with the meeting held with UEFA last week, offering heartfelt thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the gathering, ultimately making possible what Chiarabini himself readily describes as “a fine example of teamwork, not easy to achieve but certainly stimulating and, above all, productive”.
