Under-12: Autumn 2024-25 championship title goes to Folgore 1

Vincenzo Zuccolalà’s Folgore 1 completed the job: after finishing the regular season on top with 47 points from 10 matchdays (each game awards six points), they produced the decisive display in the final, a derby against Cosmos 1 – the second-placed side in the Blue Group. Given their deficit in the standings, the latter needed to win at least one period more than their opponents in order to be crowned San Marino Autumn Under-12 champions. After the goalless first period, that target was still within reach for Massimo Vagnetti’s youngsters. However, already in the middle of the three scheduled periods, the quick-fire goals from Bonfé, Hirsch and Parmeggiani pushed the trophy firmly towards the Folgore 1 cabinet. The third period was little more than a formality as far as the title was concerned, with Cosmos 1 taking the lead through Vitaioli – only to be pegged back by strikes from De Luigi and Muccioli. The meeting between the two sides representing the Serravalle Football Academy thus ended in favour of Folgore 1, who will aim to defend the trophy in the spring tournament, kicking off in the early weeks of 2025. Before the grand final, all the other teams entered in the San Marino Under-12 Championship also took part in the event’s closing day. In the early afternoon, in fact, with coordination from the FSGC Grassroots Department and the support of San Marino football hubs, mini-pitches were set up on the San Marino Stadium turf. It should also be recalled that the Fair Play Award – reserved for the team that involved the highest number of registered players over the course of the matches – was won by the women’s team of San Marino Academy.
