Under-21s: Kosovo up next tomorrow in European qualifying
After last Friday’s good performance in the friendly against Albania in Tirana, the San Marino Under-21 National Team arrived yesterday evening in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. Tomorrow, the players coached by Matteo Cecchetti will take on the hosts at 18:00 at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium in Pristina in a new clash valid for the UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifiers.
It will also be an official first meeting for the two youth national teams, who have never met before (only the senior National Team has faced Kosovo recently, in a friendly in 2021). In the standings, the two sides are separated by just one point and are therefore both still chasing their first win in Group A.
“We are facing a team that is on a very strong growth path,” said Titani head coach Matteo Cecchetti. “Even though they have not started the group in the best way, I am convinced that their real value will emerge and that they will later be able to compete for second place together with Finland and Romania. They are a very technical side,” Cecchetti continued. “Against Spain, the game was in the balance right until the end, and against Romania the draw they picked up was actually tight, given the many chances they created. We will have to be very alert to their counter-attacks and transitions, which could cause us problems.”
Today the Under-21 National Team held their official training session at the Fadil Vokrri in Pristina, the venue for tomorrow’s match scheduled for 18:00 – with live coverage on Titani.tv (https://www.titani.tv/livestream/s-kosovo-san-marino-18hwah).
