Under-21: Titans in Targoviste to face Romania. Cecchetti: "We go again to give our all"

After last Thursday’s home match against Finland, the San Marino Under-21 National Team are ready for another Group A fixture in the qualifiers for the European Championship in this age category. The young Biancazzurri coached by Matteo Cecchetti arrived yesterday evening in Targoviste, a town north of Bucharest, where tomorrow night they will take on hosts Romania. This afternoon the players trained on the pitch of the “Eugen Popescu” stadium – the venue for tomorrow’s match, scheduled for 19:00 local time (18:00 in San Marino). “We are monitoring the players’ condition,” the head coach Cecchetti commented, “after the match a few days ago. I have a few changes in mind compared to the game with Finland, given that we will be facing a different opponent, more physical and better built but still with plenty of quality. I am also expecting a more motivated Romania after their recent win in Kosovo, which has revived their chances of qualification.”

The reverse fixture at the Stadium finished 2-0, with Romania scoring at the start and at the end of the match. “Several months have passed,” added the Titans’ coach. “They have changed a lot. We played a good game, with an excellent performance between the posts from Jacopo Casadei. But tomorrow will be different. We look ahead. The boys have processed last Thursday’s defeat to Finland as well. We go again to give our all and we must first and foremost focus on the performance rather than on the result.”
