"I Just Wanted to Be a Footballer" – Pignagnoli presents her book at the Stadium

A book of strong current sporting relevance and social investigation, which explores the world of women's football through the direct, autobiographical testimony of the author, Alice Pignagnoli – a long-serving goalkeeper who has played for Milan, Napoli and Cesena, as well as being a full-time mother. "I Just Wanted to Be a Footballer" is the title of the book, published by Minerva, which immediately introduces the topic – at times controversial and all too often misunderstood – of the status of women footballers today. These are key elements and core values that the FSGC has also enshrined in the definition of its own Social Responsibility and Sustainability Strategy, created in collaboration with UEFA and presented last September. Among these, inclusion and equality are central pillars and, above all, guiding principles in the development of football as it is understood in San Marino. Therefore, together with the San Marino Academy club, we are pleased to welcome Alice to the San Marino Stadium, and we hope that the public will respond enthusiastically to the event. The presentation of "I Just Wanted to Be a Footballer" will take place on Wednesday 22 February, from 18:30 in the Press Room of the San Marino Stadium (1st floor of the Services Tower). Admission is free and open to all, subject to availability of seats in the room. Journalist Massimo Boccucci will moderate the evening which – alongside contributions from the author, Alice Pignagnoli – will also feature Marco Macina, former professional footballer and forward for the San Marino National Team, as well as Biancamaria Toccagni for Kiwanis San Marino, which has enthusiastically supported this initiative.
