Women's Champions League: Cordani appointed at Camp Nou

After her summer debut in the preliminary round of the foremost European women's football competition, Laura Cordani is now ready for her first appearance in the UEFA Women's Champions League group stage. And if on that occasion the destination was Madrid, Spain again awaits in the near future of the assistant referee from Piacenza – who, like Cristiano and Ercolani, has for some months now been an international official for San Marino. Tomorrow at 21:00, Cordani will be on the pitch as second assistant to Swiss referee Désirée Grundbacher, who has been appointed to take charge of Barcelona v Rosengård. Completing the officiating team are Austrian Sara Telek as first assistant, and Esther Staubli, the fourth official of Swiss origin. In the match at the Camp Nou, Barcelona will be playing for top spot in the group: for the Blaugrana the obstacle is Rosengård, a Swedish side still without a point in the section. In their previous home game against Bayern Munich, currently level on points with Barcelona, as many as 47,000 spectators pushed the hosts to a crucial victory over the Bavarians.
