Women’s Senior National Team received in Audience by Their Excellencies the Captains Regent

It began on 13 April with the announcement of the birth of the team and will conclude in the week between 28 November and 5 December with two friendlies against Liechtenstein and Gibraltar. The year 2026 is certainly no ordinary one for the members of the Women’s Senior National Team and for those who promoted its launch. Between these two milestones lie many other stages that will occupy a prominent place in the annals of San Marino football. Among them is without doubt this afternoon’s Audience with Their Excellencies the Captains Regent Alice Mina and Vladimiro Selva, also attended by the Secretary of State for Sport, Rossano Fabbri. It was an institutional occasion of great significance, during which the highest offices of the State offered their congratulations on the birth of this team and their best wishes – not only in terms of sporting results – to the players coached by Head Coach Giulia Domenichetti ahead of the challenges to come. In the splendid Throne Room of Palazzo Valloni (in view of the temporary unavailability of Palazzo Pubblico), the meeting was opened by an address from the Honourable Rossano Fabbri. The Secretary of State, on behalf of the San Marino Government, thanked the FSGC for having made the creation of this team possible, highlighting the central role played by women’s sport within the cultural landscape of the Republic. In recalling the honour and responsibility of representing San Marino on the international stage, Mr Fabbri mentioned the two friendlies scheduled at the end of the calendar year, which will mark the team’s absolute debut in an official match. These milestones, and the earlier ones in a 2026 destined to be long remembered, were also recalled by FSGC President Marco Tura, who spoke immediately after Secretary Fabbri. The President of the Football Federation also underlined the commitment to the upcoming UEFA Women’s Nations League, before emphasising the track record of Giulia Domenichetti, the first female Head Coach within the FSGC ranks, a standout figure of the Italian national football and futsal teams, now called upon for the first time to take on the challenge of coaching a National Team – a premise which, in Tura’s hopes, will spark a surge of enthusiasm to be passed on to her players, who themselves are embarking on a completely new adventure. President Tura closed by focusing on the new Erreà kits – unveiled yesterday and presented as gifts to Their Excellencies and to Secretary of State Fabbri. Woven into the fabric of both the Home and Away shirts are recognisable symbols of the territory of San Marino, above all the Three Towers. An effective way – concluded the President – to remind everyone that San Marino will always be at these players’ side – or rather, on their very backs – during the battles they will face on the pitch.

Finally, the address by Their Excellencies the Captains Regent, H.E. Alice Mina and H.E. Vladimiro Selva: “We are pleased to receive in Audience the authorities and the Women’s Senior National Football Team of the San Marino Football Federation, together with its President, directors, coaches and staff of the San Marino Football Federation. This official occasion – which brings together several generations – goes far beyond its purely sporting value and takes on a powerful cultural and social significance for our entire Republic. The presentation of the Women’s Senior National Team is, in fact, a fundamental milestone in the growth path of sport in San Marino. Over time, women’s football has undergone a true revolution, breaking down prejudice and demonstrating how sport can be an extraordinary vehicle for equality, inclusion and respect. Dear athletes, as you wear the colours of our flag, carry our millennial history around the world, bringing onto the pitch the determination, pride and dignity of our Community. To compete internationally in the colours of the Republic of San Marino demands a strong sense of belonging and passion. Our history teaches us that it is not size that makes a Nation strong, but the quality of its values and the unity and tenacity of its people. To each of you, to the President, to the staff and to the San Marino Football Federation, and to all those who, in various ways, have fought to give life to this special chapter in the sporting history of San Marino, we extend our sincere thanks for your constant commitment to the development of the entire movement. Every tackle you win, every run, every act of sporting fair play on the field of play will bring honour to our Country. New, important and enticing challenges await you. We therefore thank you in advance for the emotions you will give us and for the achievements of which you will make yourselves the protagonists, in the certainty that no objective is out of reach when there is passion, sacrifice and dedication. Dear guests, we wish you a journey rich in satisfaction, growth and success, both sporting and human.”
