Women’s Under-17 National Team to face Calcio+15 Selection in friendly tomorrow

Just under a year on from the first, albeit unofficial, outing of a San Marino Women’s National Team, tomorrow will see a repeat of the fixture in Tirrenia (PI) at the CONI Olympic Preparation Centre, between the San Marino Women’s Under-17 National Team and the Calcio+15 Selection. The young Biancazzurre will be able to call on players born up to 2008, including several who featured in the UEFA Development Tournament hosted in the Republic last April. Also back in a National Team shirt will be Anna Benedettini, captain of that side and now a Fiorentina player. Of the twenty-three players called up, as many as twenty come from the San Marino Academy’s girls’ youth sector: in addition to Benedettini, only Francini and Bonciucci are registered with other clubs. Meetings are also scheduled between Italian and San Marino federation officials: representing the FSGC, the two Heads of the Women’s Area, Gian Luca Angelini and Pierangelo Manzaroli, have travelled to Tuscany. Meanwhile, there is significant news on the technical training front as well: Head Coach Giacomo Piva has been admitted to the UEFA PRO Coaching Licence course at the Coverciano Coaches’ School, within the framework of the Technical and Sporting Cooperation Agreement between the Italian and San Marino Football Federations. Piva’s squad list is as follows for the friendly match, scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 14:30 at the CONI Olympic Preparation Centre (Tirrenia, PI).
