Women’s Under-19: Group B1 kicks off in San Marino in one week
The San Marino Women’s Under-19 National Team are ready to play the second official mini-tournament in their very young history. After their absolute debut in Bosnia and Herzegovina last autumn, Giacomo Piva’s Biancazzurrine now take part in Round 2 of the UEFA European Championship qualifiers. Group B1 is shared with Estonia, Cyprus and Slovenia, with the Titane playing all their matches on home soil in Acquaviva on 27 February, 2 March and 5 March (view San Marino’s full fixture list here).
All six matches will be played at 11:00, with the other game being played at the same time at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana. At stake is promotion to League A in the next edition of the youth continental tournament – an outcome guaranteed to the winner of each League B group. San Marino’s European qualifying matches will be broadcast live and free via streaming, with Italian commentary, on Titani.tv. Following the recent friendly that saw the Under-16 National Team in Tirrenia (PI) take on the FIGC Calcio+15 Selection, women’s football remains firmly in the spotlight.
In the build-up to this important event, the Under-19 players also took part in a meeting with Massimiliano Rosti – Integrity Officer for San Marino. On Monday 16 February, at the FSGC headquarters, the Biancazzurrine were made aware of the risks and dangers inherent in practices of match-fixing and game manipulation.
