Women’s Under-19 National Team: Romania, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina drawn from the pot
Romania, Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina will be the travelling companions of the Women’s Under-19 National Team on the occasion of their very first European adventure. This was decided by this morning’s draw for Round 1 of qualification for EURO 2026: the Titane have been placed in Group B3 (League B), which will be hosted by Bosnia and Herzegovina. The mini-tournament will be played from 26 November to 2 December and the group winners – together with the best second-placed side across all six League B groups – will be promoted to League A. Group B3 is the only group that includes two teams relegated from last season’s League A: Romania (first pot) and Ukraine (second pot). “It’s a group with strong teams and therefore I have no doubt it will be very demanding. – commented head coach Giacomo Piva after the draw - At the same time, however, I also find it very stimulating, because it will give us the chance to test ourselves against established footballing nations. Above all, it will be an opportunity for us to show what we can do in a new environment, and we are truly grateful for that. The growth of the project linked to the women’s national teams has been rapid. Until a few years ago it almost seemed utopian to imagine taking part in European qualifiers; instead, thanks to the hard work of the FSGC and the staff, we have achieved this prestigious target. But this is only the beginning. We will continue to work hard to make sure we are ready for this event. Then it will be up to us to prove our worth on the pitch. We can’t wait.”
