BKN301 Championship: top-of-the-table head‑to‑heads

A matchday not to be missed gets underway tomorrow in the BKN301 San Marino Championship. Matchday 19 features top-of-the-table clashes that have all the feel of early finals. In addition, the snow that fell in recent days – adding further charm to the Coppa Titano semi‑finals as well as the rescheduled fixture between Cailungo and La Fiorita – has forced some changes to the schedule. One of the two big matches remains unchanged: tomorrow at 15:00 in Acquaviva, Cosmos and La Fiorita will take to the field. Two of the best sides in the league, with first – the yellow and blues of Montegiardino – facing second. As mentioned, Manfredini’s men in midweek played their crucial game in hand which allowed them – thanks to a late strike from Rinaldi in the Domagnano snow – to overtake Cosmos once again and reclaim top spot. There is now just a single point between the two sides and tomorrow promises a fierce battle. Their recent form is similar, with three straight wins apiece and identical defensive records – the best in the league – with only eight goals conceded. Cosmos, for their part, boast the best attack with 36 goals scored, but tomorrow they will be without suspended top scorer Prandelli. The reverse fixture ended 2-0 to La Fiorita thanks to a second‑half brace from Rinaldi. The day’s other major showdown is between Tre Fiori and Tre Penne, also scheduled in Acquaviva at 15:00 but as part of Sunday’s late fixtures. This is another high‑stakes clash, with Andy Selva’s yellow and blues currently third, three points behind Cosmos, while Stefano Ceci’s side sit fourth, just a point adrift of the Fiorentino outfit. Both are coming off wins in the last round, with Tre Penne having collected four victories from their last five league games. Not only that: the Città side also defeated Libertas in midweek in the second leg of their semi‑final to book their place in the Coppa final. The most recent meeting between the two sides dates back to the first half of the season in October, when the biancazzurri prevailed 2-1 thanks to goals from Badalassi and Righini, overturning Falzetta’s opener. Chasing the leading quartet are Virtus, who will be keeping a close eye on those two direct clashes while naturally focusing on their own game against Libertas. In the league, the neroverdi are coming off two draws – in both cases having to come from behind against Tre Fiori and Fiorentino – but in midweek they secured a vital place in the Coppa final. The 1-0 defeat suffered by Bizzotto’s side against Folgore proved harmless, as the 3-0 first‑leg win was enough to see them through. And speaking of the Cup, Virtus’ opponents in the final will be the very same maroon‑shirts who were beaten last Wednesday by Tre Penne and will therefore be eager to make amends for what happened in Acquaviva. Sperindio’s men had a rest last weekend, and their league form is among the best, with four wins on the bounce that have them currently sixth on 27 points (just behind Virtus, fifth on 33). The match will be played in Acquaviva on Sunday at 18:30. A mid‑table clash instead pits Folgore against Faetano, two sides coming into it in contrasting form. Lepri’s men are fresh from a midweek Coppa Titano semi‑final win over Virtus, which however was not enough for the giallorossoneri to overturn the first‑leg deficit. They also won their last league match thanks to a stoppage‑time header from Di Marzio. It is a bleak spell for Faetano, on the other hand, who have suffered six consecutive defeats. The gialloblu currently sit ninth but have the worst defence, with 39 goals conceded – the same as bottom side Murata. The bianconeri, however, are among the form teams in the lower half of the table. The standings are extremely tight, with eight teams separated by just three points. Angelini’s side, in fact, are coming off two wins in a row and this weekend face Juvenes‑Dogana. Amati’s team, by contrast, have managed just one victory in their last five. There is also a change for this fixture: it will be played tomorrow at 18:30 in Acquaviva. Both San Giovanni and Cailungo are in search of points to reverse their negative trends. The rossoneri have not won since way back on 12 November (2-1 against Juvenes‑Dogana) and have picked up just one point from their last five outings. The rossoverdi, who were also in action midweek in their rescheduled Matchday 16 fixture and narrowly beaten by La Fiorita, come into this game on the back of three straight defeats. Kick‑off tomorrow at 15:00 in Domagnano. There is also a change of venue and time for Fiorentino‑Domagnano: the match will still be played on Sunday but now at 18:30 in Dogana. Fiorentino will be looking to extend their excellent run of form: the rossoblu are unbeaten in five, and in the last round they also managed to halt the more fancied Virtus. Domagnano, by contrast, have lost three on the spin and the Wolves’ last victory dates back more than a month (4-1 against Faetano on 8 January). Pennarossa have a bye this weekend.   Here is the updated and final schedule for Matchday 19 of the San Marino Championship. A reminder that all matches will be available to watch free of charge with commentary on the Titani.tv streaming platform:
