BKN301 Championship: Tre Penne hit nine points, winning trebles for Folgore and San Giovanni

The perfect start continues for Tre Penne, who rack up a third win from as many league outings. They pass the Tre Fiori test with flying colours, a demanding examination in every respect: Andy Selva’s side are physical and ruthlessly effective, and threaten early on through Adami Martins. Tre Penne respond with an acrobatic effort from Pieri, lacking only in accuracy. Far more decisive is Falzetta, who bursts down the flank and skips past Vandi before unleashing a diagonal effort which – deflected by Lombardi – wrong-foots Migani. With the lead in the bag, Tre Fiori drop their line of engagement and look to hit on the break: the one-two between Gjurchinoski and Traini ends with the latter firing over with his right. The Gialloblù go in ahead at the break, but only thanks to a miraculous save from Semprini on Pieri’s close-range touch. The start of the second half is a mirror image, with Migani called upon to prevent a second Tre Fiori goal with a fine intervention to deny Adami Martins. Nigretti is alert on the rebound and prevents Gjurchinoski from an easy tap-in. In this long-distance duel between goalkeepers, Semprini shines on 54 minutes by beating away Dormi’s seemingly certain finish. Tre Fiori appeal on the hour mark for a short back-pass from Nigretti that sends Gjurchinoski through: Barretta uses all his experience, going shoulder to shoulder with the Croatian right in the box. At the other end comes the Città side’s equaliser: Vandi whips in a powerful cross to the back post where Badalassi arrives right on cue for the winning touch. It’s the second goal of the season for the top scorer of the last two campaigns, and it throws the contest wide open again. Tre Fiori seem to lack the energy to go on and win it and threaten only sporadically from set pieces. Different story for Tre Penne, always in control of proceedings and able to turn it around on 77 minutes: Nigretti’s surge into the area is halted illegally by Gregorio and Andruccioli points to the spot. From twelve yards Righini sends Semprini the wrong way and seals a deserved win, whose margin the Tre Fiori goalkeeper prevents from becoming even wider with saves on Dormi and Badalassi. In Tre Fiori’s final assault, Gjurchinoski sees a deflected shot drop just over the bar. Big wins, garnished with their first goals of the year, for Folgore and San Giovanni. The latter faced Cailungo in Montecchio, and almost went ahead early on with Strologo, who foreshadowed a difficult afternoon for Benedettini. The San Marino goalkeeper also stretches to keep out an effort from Greppi, the undisputed man of the match. Angelini also comes within a whisker of the opener, skipping past a couple of opponents on the by-line before smashing into the side netting. The deserved 0-1 is delayed by only another minute: credit to Celli, who recycles a cross seemingly destined to run out of play, delivering into the middle for Greppi, ice-cool as he beats Benedettini from close range – the keeper then proves decisive in tipping Kevin Lisi’s long-range strike onto the bar. As the move continues, Angelini also has a go, but is denied by the Cailungo goalkeeper. The second arrives on 39 minutes and bears the signature of Bruma, who scores from the spot. There is a timid reaction at the end of the half from the Rossoverdi, but they cause no problems for Nigro. By contrast, San Giovanni score with their first foray after the restart: a splendid move around the edge of the box sends Lisi in front of Benedettini, and he squares into an empty net for Greppi, who arrives and bags his brace. Shortly afterwards there is another penalty for San Giovanni, but they miss the chance for a fourth because of Lisi’s wayward effort. Cailungo never really lay a glove on them and San Giovanni remain dangerous through Boldrini and Bruma, who both fail to hit the target. First goals and first points of the campaign for San Giovanni, beaten in their previous three outings. Cailungo, meanwhile, are unable to build on their draw against Tre Fiori. Folgore also found their first goals and first win of the season today. The club from Falciano end their goal drought thanks to two defenders. It takes just five minutes for Gattei Colonna to glance a header into the net from a perfectly delivered wide free-kick by Sartori. Subsequent efforts from Santoni at one end and Terenzi at the other come to nothing. The San Marino full-back is crucial in preventing a second on the half-hour, beating Di Marzio to the ball with the goal gaping. The Folgore striker will make amends in the second half, which also sees a brace from Gattei Colonna – again a header, again from a Sartori delivery – this time from a corner. From that point on it is all Folgore, who make it three from the penalty spot. A superb run from Marco Bernardi, skipping past three men, earns the penalty which Sartori – among the stand-out performers on the day – dispatches low to Porcellini’s right. Before the final whistle there are a couple of goalmouth scrambles, but Faetano are denied even a consolation goal. A fully deserved success for Folgore, who draw level with Juvenes-Dogana on four points in the table. These are the results from the fourth matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese BKN301:
