Club Licensing Exchange Programme at the heart of UEFA’s work
The 2024-25 Club Licensing Exchange Programme took centre stage in today’s work at UEFA headquarters in Nyon. The San Marino Football Federation took part in this first edition, together with its counterparts from Andorra, Azerbaijan, Czechia, France, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Romania, Spain and Sweden. Representing the San Marino club licensing system was Club Licensing Manager Paolo Rondelli, who opened proceedings with a presentation entitled “Development of club football”.
In his address, Rondelli outlined the use of an incentive-based system to raise club standards, particularly at amateur level. UEFA also considers that the San Marino model could prove useful to other associations for the development of youth football and for everything that does not fall under the remit of professional clubs. It also emerged on this occasion that the Second Division of the Dutch league uses a system for distributing financial contributions that is balanced among participating clubs, in some ways similar to that used in San Marino.
