The FSGC meets High School students to present job opportunities in the world of football

The thread that links the world of education with that of sport has always been of fundamental importance for both sides. For years, the San Marino FA has maintained a constructive, hands‑on dialogue and interaction with schools in San Marino at every level, significantly expanding in recent times the range of activities on offer. In recent weeks, the project focused on job opportunities within the football system has been relaunched. This system should not be seen exclusively as a privileged environment for players, coaches, technical or management staff. Alongside these primary figures, a countless range of roles from different professional areas and skill sets contribute to the smooth running and enhancement of the “football product”. The project has been set up by the Youth Sector of the San Marino FA, one of the main points of contact – for obvious reasons – with the education sector in the country. The honour and responsibility of breaking the ice last week fell to the Associazione Sammarinese Arbitri, with seven events scheduled and ten classes from the San Marino High Schools involved. The boys and girls were presented with opportunities, benefits and career paths within the world of football in a leading on‑field role: that of match official. Off the pitch, other professional avenues were explored. This week, in fact, the FSGC Press Office – in collaboration with the Associazione Sammarinese Stampa Sportiva – is introducing young students to the world of sports media, both from the point of view of a press office and from the more traditional perspective of the journalist. From communication to marketing the step is a short one, and the job opportunities in football are similar, just as they are in the field of sports event organisation or the vast world of sustainability projects. Especially in recent times, the latter have taken centre stage in shaping the business, corporate and ethical strategies of the world’s leading organisations. All these topics will be presented to students at the Scuola Secondaria Superiore di San Marino during the first part of their two hours of physical education. Last but not least, every week young people in San Marino will be asked to take on tasks that will generate a score – or even a school grade, as in the case of drafting a press release – which will be used to draw up a ranking table rewarding the best of the High School classes involved over the five weeks of the project.
