Futsal: Domagnano and Folgore facing uphill battles

The second legs of the quarter-finals of the San Marino Futsal Championship get underway tomorrow evening.

Things are almost settled in the top half of the draw. Murata now simply need to protect their advantage after a 6-0 first-leg victory over Libertas. A similar situation between Tre Penne and Folgore, with the side from Città holding a three-goal lead but forced to do without Rossi following the red card he picked up last Monday. The Giallorossoneri will need to win by at least four goals if they are to progress. It is a very different story in the bottom half of the draw. Virtus lead Domagnano by just one goal, thanks to Zafferani’s decisive strike deep into stoppage time. It is the same scenario between Pennarossa and La Fiorita, with the Chiesanuova side needing to avoid defeat to book their place in the semi-finals. If the tie finishes level on aggregate, Pietrangeli’s team will go through by virtue of their higher position in the table in the regular season.
