Futsal: Domagnano, Cosmos and Virtus run riot, immediate response from Tre Penne
While waiting to meet them again in the cup in just a few days’ time, Pennarossa beat Tre Fiori 3-2 to claim a second consecutive victory. The Chiesanuova side do all the hard work in the first half, when Maiani opens the scoring and Gasperoni adds a brace to make it 3-0, a scoreline that seems to promise a straightforward second half. Instead, Tre Fiori summon a reaction that allows them to climb back into the game, without ever managing to fully close the gap. The yellow and blue goals come from Casadei and Crescentini. For Tre Fiori it’s a fourth defeat on the spin, and they are now joined in the table by Cosmos, who celebrate their first win of the season. Bacciocchi and Molinas make it 2-0 inside 8 minutes, then Dominici and once again Molinas further stretch the lead before Libertas attempt to reply through Zanotti’s 4-1. In first-half stoppage time it becomes 5-1, again courtesy of Molinas, who will go on to score twice more after the break – five in total – the second of which from the penalty spot. For Libertas, Taddei had found the net at the start of the second half, while the final seal on Muccioli’s side’s triumph is applied by Dominici in the closing stages. Cosmos move forcefully closer to the group of teams on 4 points – Juvenes-Dogana, Fiorentino and Folgore – all beaten on the Monday slate of Matchday 5.
Fiorentino’s mini positive run (one win and one draw) is snapped as they go down to Tre Penne, who in turn immediately bounce back from the defeat suffered against La Fiorita – so far the only loss in the league for Penserini’s men. Yet it is the reigning champions who take the lead on 5 minutes through Bernardi. Cola levels on 24 minutes, then in the second half Sabatino and again Cola score the goals that give Tre Penne their fourth league win of the campaign. Juvenes-Dogana fall to Murata, though not without fighting to the very end. It finishes 5-4 to the Bianconeri, who are forced to chase after falling behind to Thomas Celli’s opener but manage to restore parity just past the quarter-hour mark through Busignani. Bologna puts Juvenes-Dogana back in front on 28 minutes and they hold that advantage until the dawn of the second half. Then comes a rapid flurry of goals (Ercolani–Moretti–Belloni) that allows Murata to break away, a lead that becomes even more substantial when Mattioli also decides to get his name on the scoresheet. Levani’s side, however, refuse to bow out and pull back through Cavalli and Chiaruzzi – the latter scoring when the clock is, by then, the best ally of Max Spada’s team.
At the top, Virtus confirm their status with a 100% record after five rounds. The Neroverdi overwhelm Cailungo 8-0, putting the contest on ice in just six minutes – enough time for Pasqualini, Zafferani and Biordi to all get on the scoresheet. Before the interval Pascucci and Bernardi also find the net, with the latter bagging a brace after the restart, when Di Maio and Tamagnini also increase the winning margin. The only blemish on Virtus’ night of celebration is the serious injury suffered by Luca Zafferani. The player, who is also part of the National Team setup, is sent our very best wishes for a swift recovery.
Domagnano continue to stride in step with Murata, earning a third straight win and moving up to 13 points with their victory over Folgore. The Multieventi match is unlocked on 7 minutes: Menghi fires the opener and, shortly afterwards, Davide Dolcini doubles the lead to make it 2-0 – a scoreline that will also stand at the change of ends. The first 8 minutes of the second half are exploited by the Wolves to surge into a 5-0 lead: the goals come, in order, from Bollini, Vagnini and again Davide Dolcini. The 6-0 goal, which will be the final score, arrives midway through the half from Santarini’s right foot. La Fiorita keep pace with the Domagnano–Murata duo and can also count on having a game in hand. The Gialloblù’s fourth win in four comes at the expense of San Giovanni, caught cold by Giuccioli and then forced to concede – all before the break – further goals to the Chezzi brothers, Simone and Matteo, and to Pellegrini. In the last 10 minutes San Giovanni reduce the deficit through Zafferani and then a Severi penalty, awarded for a handball by Gualandi, who also “earns” his second yellow card of the evening on that occasion. But the final word in the contest belongs once more to La Fiorita, who make it 5-2 through Pellegrini – completing his personal brace.
