Futsal: Domagnano win tug‑of‑war with Libertas
Victory and a leap up the table for Gasperoni’s Giallorossi, who edge past Libertas. In the late fixture of the sixth round of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal, after an early exchange of blows from Paesini and Filippo Dolcini, it is Domagnano who break the deadlock thanks to a piece of individual brilliance from Righi – cutting in from the left before beating Amati in style. The lead lasts less than 300 seconds, just enough time for Selva to use his size and strength in the painted area – from where he fires in the strike that restores parity, following a kick-in. The two scorers soon try their luck again, with little success. Hidri then opts for a selfish choice on a counter-attack launched by Muraccini, going for goal instead of squaring for Righi with the net gaping. The Giallorossi goalkeeper has to get his hands to a right-footed effort from Andrea Gasperoni, capping a fine escape from the press by Levani’s men. Before the break there is time for Menghi to hit the post: the Domagnano captain pounces on a loose ball, leaves Amati rooted but is denied by the base of the upright.
After the restart, most of the dangerous chances are created by Libertas, but Domagnano are the ones who manage to make them count on the scoreboard. On 35 minutes, Filippo Dolcini sets up Pascucci to shoot: the winger makes no mistake and beats Amati at his near post. The Giallorossi backline survive Michelotti’s ensuing volley, while Davide Dolcini is decisive – after losing possession – in smothering Paesini, who is off target in front of Muraccini under pressure from his opponent. The elder Dolcini brother then fails to land the blow for 3-1 after wriggling free of Fabbri’s marking. Libertas now throw everything forward, accepting defensive risks: Gasperoni forces a save from Muraccini, monumental in narrowing the angle on Giorgetti – who had gone through on the counter-attack. A third ball lost in build-up by Domagnano again gives Andrea Gasperoni a clear sight of goal, but this time the winger lacks accuracy. At Libertas’ best moment, the Wolves deliver the decisive strike: from a Sensoli corner, Menghi ghosts away from the opposition zone with a crescent run that frees him up to fire home right-footed from close range for a 3-1 lead. Not yet definitive, because the tallest of the Giallorossi brings down Selva in the area – the Libertas man doing well to wriggle free of Bonfini’s marking. From the spot Fabbri is flawless on 59 minutes, but there is no time left to snatch an equaliser: Paesini’s free-kick draws the curtain on a clash played on a knife-edge, at the end of which Domagnano pocket three points that also see them move above Libertas in the table.
