Futsal: draw and entertainment at the Multieventi, Tre Fiori claim first win

Virtus hit their first bump after a flawless start. The big match at the Multieventi between the league leaders and La Fiorita finishes in a spectacular 4-4 draw. Virtus open the scoring through Cevoli; Pasqualini doubles the lead on 19 minutes, just a few minutes before Pellegrini and Matteo Chezzi – within the space of about a minute – complete La Fiorita’s comeback. A partial comeback, because the game still has plenty of twists in store. One of them is Virtus’ 3-2, struck by Dolcini shortly before the half-time buzzer. Matteo Chezzi restores parity for La Fiorita midway through the second half. Pasqualini, however, is also in the mood for multiple goals: his second of the night, on 50 minutes, gives Michelotti’s men their third lead. Still not the final word: Matteo Chezzi completes his hat-trick on 56 minutes, putting the seal on one of the liveliest and most entertaining matches of this early part of the season. In any case, slipping from a 100% record does not cost Virtus dearly, because behind them, Murata fail to capitalise. The reigning champions are held to 0-0 by Pennarossa and remain two points adrift of the black-and-greens at the top.

In fact, the only team to gain significant ground from the fixtures of Matchday 8, at least as far as the upper end of the table is concerned, is Tre Penne, who, thanks to a narrow win over Domagnano, cut the gap to the top two while at the same time putting a safety cushion between themselves and their closest pursuers. It is Gabrielli who, with a sharp finish from a corner on 28 minutes, delivers Penserini’s side a third win in a row – and a second consecutive clean sheet. Domagnano’s three-match unbeaten run comes to an end, and they are caught by Folgore, who return to winning ways at the expense of Libertas. Two own goals by the Granata (Paolini first, then Gasperoni) pave the way for the giallorossoneri, who then add gloss with strikes from Ercolani in first-half stoppage time and Mularoni after the restart. Fabbri’s goal midway through the second half is no more than consolation and does not spare Levani’s boys a fourth defeat in a row. Levani’s side now feel Faetano breathing down their necks, as Selva’s men record their second league win. Their victims are Fiorentino, struck twice after the interval: by Menghi on 37 minutes and by Simone Fortunati on 43. Bernardi, on the hour, converts the first of the accumulated free-kicks awarded to Fiorentino, but he cannot repeat the feat with the second, given in added time. Thus slips away, for the rossoblù, the chance to break their negative streak and avoid losing further ground on Faetano themselves.

Fiorentino remain stuck on three points, the same tally as San Giovanni and, since yesterday, also as Tre Fiori, who in the direct clash with the Rossoneri celebrate their first win of the season. It is a comprehensive victory, set in motion after just 1 minute by Severi (no stranger to lightning goals) and then continued by the No. 9 in yellow and blue, who adds three more goals inside the first 21 minutes. Crescentini makes it 5-0 on 23 minutes. After the change of ends, San Giovanni show signs of life: Gracik and Casadei try to launch a comeback that ultimately never truly materialises. In fact, it is Tre Fiori who close the contest with their sixth goal of the evening, this time scored by Berardi. Cailungo pull away from the group of teams on three points by drawing 2-2 with Cosmos. It is a draw with regrets for Venerucci’s men, who overturn the initial deficit (Molinas, 31’) thanks to goals from Lotti and Flammini. Cosmos grab a point right at the death: it is goalkeeper Delvecchio who rescues the Gialloverdi, scoring in the second minute of added time. With this draw, Cosmos only partially take advantage of Juvenes-Dogana’s rest day and now sit one point behind Franchino’s side.
