Futsal: Fiorentino back on top; Tre Fiori, Cosmos and Domagnano make it four in a row

Mission accomplished in the chase at the top. Fiorentino – albeit with a few scares – overcome La Fiorita in a hard-fought clash and return to the summit of the futsal league, once again level with Folgore. Michelotti’s side make the brighter start and go two goals up early on through Busignani and Andrea Ercolani. The Montegiardino side respond with Giacomo Bernardi pulling one back. The Rossoblù strike again through Luca Zafferani, but before the break it is Fabio Belloni who keeps his team in the game. In the second half, it is once more Danilo Busignani from the spot who makes the Rossoblù celebrate – goal number 47 for the San Marino striker, further cementing his status as top scorer – before La Fiorita hit back again through Andrea Franciosi. It is not enough, however, for the Gialloblù to avoid defeat. Tre Fiori make the most of La Fiorita’s slip by beating Virtus and consolidating third place. It is a fourth consecutive win for Alex Bugli’s men, who break the deadlock after just a few minutes through Lorenzo Cecchini. The Gialloblù double their lead at the start of the second half with Lorenzo Boschi, before Cecchini again wraps it up a few minutes from time with the third goal. Manuel Rossini scores a consolation for Virtus, and in added time comes the only sour note for Tre Fiori with the sending-off of Michele Casadei. It is also a fourth win on the spin for Domagnano, who go level with La Fiorita in fourth place thanks to a 5-0 victory over Cailungo (the Gialloblù stay ahead due to the head-to-head record). The Lupi open the scoring early on through Davide Dolcini, then William Cavalli and Filippo Dolcini send the Giallorossi into the break with a three-goal cushion. After the restart, the pattern does not change: Alberto Menghi scores early on and then, near the end, completes his brace to spark further celebrations for Mussoni’s side. Cailungo remain rooted to the bottom of the table, with the road towards the play-off zone increasingly uphill. Cosmos are also enjoying an excellent run of form, clinching their fourth win in a row: the Gialloverdi, thanks to a 5-1 success over Faetano, now sit ninth and show no signs of stopping. Alberto Bologna scores twice in the opening half-hour, then in first-half stoppage time Davide Zafferani makes it 3-0 before the break. Faetano offer a timid reaction in the 48th minute through Gabriele Tomassoni, but in added time first Giovanni Righi and then Giacomo Gasperoni put the result beyond doubt. For Faetano it is a fourth consecutive defeat, which leaves them second from bottom. Libertas and San Giovanni also pick up precious wins in the play-off race. The Granata end their winless run with a 7-2 victory over Pennarossa, lifting them up to tenth place. It is blow for blow in the opening stages, with Biancorosso player Samuele Selva cancelling out Francesco Rossi’s opener, before the Borgo Maggiore side cut loose thanks to a Filippo Burioni brace and an own goal from Federico Rinaldi to send Libertas into the break 4-1 up. After the restart the Granata score again through Alan Bacciocchi, then Burioni crowns his special evening by completing his hat-trick. Gabriele Taddei makes it 7-1, and late on Federico Rinaldi redeems himself for his own goal and makes the defeat slightly less heavy for Pennarossa. The Biancorossi, however, remain in the play-off places in eighth. As mentioned, San Giovanni also win, prevailing in the head‑to‑head clash with Tre Penne. This result lifts the Rossoneri into 11th place, which currently means a post‑season berth, while it is a different story for the Biancazzurri, stuck in 13th. The match is full of incident from the outset: Andrea Zonzini puts Davide Gualtieri’s men in front, but Dinatale replies immediately. Shortly afterwards, two more quick‑fire goals – from Andrea Contato (Tre Penne) and Alberto Volpinari – make it 2-2. In the second half San Giovanni step on the gas thanks to Michele Giacobbi and again Volpinari, but in the closing stages Dinatale pulls one back. There is no further time, though, for Gianni Galli’s men, who nonetheless remain just a few points off the play-offs. Finally, the matchday will conclude this evening with the late kick-off at the Multieventi between Juvenes-Dogana and Murata (21:30).
