Futsal: Folgore take the derby, Domagnano and Fiorentino win at the death
The first part of Matchday 8 in the Campionato Sammarinese di Futsal provides goals, late turnarounds and results that weigh heavily on the table. Five matches were played on Tuesday evening, with Folgore starring in the derby against Cosmos and Libertas overcoming Virtus. There were big wins too for Tre Penne, Domagnano and Fiorentino, on a matchday that will be completed over the coming days.
The programme opened in Domagnano with the clash between Tre Fiori and Tre Penne, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Biancazzurri. After a balanced first half, it was Jacopo Gamba who finally broke the deadlock right at the end of the opening period, scoring in added time. In the 38th minute the game became more complicated for both sides: Sabatino for Tre Penne and Michele Casadei, the Tre Fiori captain, were both sent off after receiving a second yellow card. The match was definitively put to bed by Cola on 57 minutes, sealing another win for the Biancazzurri, who, after a start below expectations, seem to have found both their identity and greater consistency in their performances. The next match on the same court saw Domagnano get the better of Faetano at the end of a hard-fought contest full of twists and turns. After a first half that finished perfectly level, the second period opened with a goal apiece inside a minute: Sensoli struck first on 32 minutes, and sixty seconds later Yuri Rossi made it 1-1. Davide Dolcini restored Domagnano’s lead in the 42nd minute, confirming his good run of form, but Faetano replied again through Yuri Rossi on 51 minutes, who thus completed his brace. The match-winner was once more Sensoli, who in the 56th minute completed his own brace, capitalising on an error by the opponents while managing the flying goalkeeper: having won the ball back, the Lupi player scored from distance into an empty net, making it 3-2. In the closing stages came the sending-off of Rastelli, the Gialloblu goalkeeper. With this win, Gasperoni’s men draw level on points in the table with Faetano.
On the Fiorentino court, Fiorentino returned to winning ways against Juvenes Dogana, propelled by a superb Jacopo Giardi. It was the Rossoblù number 3 who broke the deadlock right at the end of the first half, making it 1-0. After the restart Juvenes Dogana restored parity through Thomas Celli in the 39th minute, throwing the game wide open again. Just when the match seemed destined for a draw, Giardi took centre stage once more: on 59 minutes he scored again to complete his brace and hand his side three precious points. An important success for Fiorentino, who are back to winning, while Juvenes Dogana leave empty-handed. The evening in Fiorentino continued with one of the derbies of the Castello di Serravalle between Folgore and Cosmos, which ended in a clear-cut 7-1 win for the Giallorossoneri. Leading the team was captain Michele Ercolani, who opened the scoring after just ten seconds, grabbed his second on 27 minutes and completed his hat-trick in the 33rd minute with a free-kick, won by the number seven himself after a foul by Stolfi. The Cosmos number eight then received a second yellow card and was sent off. Folgore also made the most of their opponents’ struggles with the use of a flying goalkeeper: Abbruciati netted a brace in two almost identical situations, finding the net from his own area on both occasions. Pazzaglia and Molari also got on the scoresheet, while a goal from Lorenzo Bacciocchi prevented Folgore from ending the night with a clean sheet.
In the 22:00 kick-off at the Acquaviva sports hall, it was Libertas who prevailed, beating Virtus 4-2. It was Matteo Michelotti’s side who went into the break ahead, thanks to Jacopo Viggiani’s goal in the 17th minute. After the interval, however, the Granata stepped up a gear, just as they had done against Folgore: Elia Michelotti struck the equaliser on 34 minutes, while Riccardo Michelotti completed the turnaround in the 38th. Virtus did not give up and reduced the deficit through Beccari in the 48th minute, but in the final six minutes it was Libertas who took control of proceedings. Moretti made it 3-2 on 54 minutes before Riccardo Michelotti, with his second of the night, definitively wrapped things up at the death. Thanks to this victory, the Granata draw level in the standings with La Fiorita, who will play their fixture tomorrow evening.
Matchday 8 is not over yet: this evening in Fiorentino the programme continues with Murata-Cailungo. The Bianconeri will have the chance to move, at least temporarily, top of the table, level on points with Pennarossa, who have a rest day.
