Futsal: Murata pull away, Domagnano return to winning ways

Murata win again and, thanks to Virtus being held up – stopped by a draw against Juvenes Dogana – they stretch their lead at the top even further. The 24th futsal league matchday – played last night – therefore smiles on Spada’s side, who get the job done against Faetano with a clear-cut 7-3 and move up to 60 points. The match in Dogana was unlocked by Selva’s boys through Luca Fortunati, but Murata stay calm and turn it around over the next forty minutes thanks to braces from De Angelis and Busignani, along with Moretti’s goal. In the closing stages, De Angelis and Moretti strike again, while Calzolari and Guidi make the defeat a little less heavy. Despite the loss, Faetano remain 12th (the last available playoff spot), four points clear of Tre Fiori – who, however, have a game in hand. The Gialloblù, in fact, lose narrowly to Cailungo, who pick up three precious points in view of the post-season. In Fiorentino it is the Gialloblù who take the lead through Severi, with Gianni replying. Tre Fiori go ahead again with Severi (brace), but Flammini levels. The decisive goal for the Rossoverdi is scored by Elia Sarti in the 44th minute. With this win Venerucci’s team climb to 10th place. One place above are Domagnano who, at the Multieventi, return to winning ways in a mid-table head-to-head against Cosmos. The indoor match-winner is Hidri, who settles it in the second half from the penalty spot. Franchino’s Cosmos have a late chance to equalise with Francioni’s 10-metre free-kick, but Muraccini keeps him out and saves the Wolves. Gasperoni’s team thus get back to winning ways – a victory that had been missing for almost a month – and draw level in the table with Cosmos. The only draw of the evening comes between Juvenes Dogana and Virtus. The match in Fiorentino is full of goals and emotion, and it is Cellarosi’s side who break the deadlock through Celli, but Michelotti’s Neroverdi hit back and turn it around with a Cevoli double. Juvenes Dogana equalise again with Celli, but there is another strike from Cevoli (hat-trick) for 3-2 with ten minutes remaining. The final word, however, belongs to Cavalli, who in the 56th minute makes it 3-3. Virtus nevertheless stay second, although now six points adrift of leaders Murata. No problems instead for La Fiorita who, thanks to a 5-1 win over Folgore, remain firmly in fourth place. After a goalless first half, Bologna strikes at the start of the second period to give the Gialloblù the lead. Ottaviani replies, but Pietrangeli’s side produce the decisive burst and, through Chezzi, Raschi and Bologna (a hat-trick for him), claim all three points. Arguably the best game of the night was played in Dogana between Libertas and Fiorentino. Early on, the Rossoblù go 2-0 up with Paoloni and Para, but Gasperoni pulls one back for the Granata. Ceccoli and Paolini trade blows, but in first-half stoppage time Gasperoni scores again to make it 3-3 at the break. It all comes down to the final minutes, when anything and everything happens: Paolini puts Fiorentino back in front with ten minutes to go, but it is Libertas who end up celebrating thanks to goals from Ciarmatori and Gasperoni (another hat-trick on the night) for the final 5-4. A spectacular victory and, above all, a crucial one in the playoff race for Levani’s Libertas, who are currently 11th. Fiorentino, on the other hand, slip further away from the post-season spots – now six points adrift.
