Futsal: Murata temporarily top, Tre Penne roar past Cosmos

Murata claim a third consecutive win and climb temporarily to the top of the table, awaiting Virtus’ response in tonight’s late fixture against Faetano. Spada’s Bianconeri immediately take control of their match with Libertas: Busignani strikes in the 4th minute, followed by Zanotti and Moretti. The Granata try to get back into it through Paolini, but are soon overwhelmed by a new black-and-white wave early in the second half, when De Angelis, Zanotti and Busignani all score in quick succession. Levani’s men respond again through Giorgetti, but that too is drowned out by another Murata flurry. Morri, Moretti and De Angelis complete the 9-2 scoreline with which Spada’s side secure, for at least 24 hours, the most coveted position of all. For Libertas it is a third straight defeat, a run that costs the Borgo Maggiore side their place to Juvenes-Dogana. The latter sweep aside Fiorentino in the direct clash, extend their winning streak to two and draw level on 8 points with Cosmos and Folgore, with the latter to close out Matchday 7 on Wednesday evening against Pennarossa.

The second of the Fiorentino fixtures is unlocked on 9 minutes by Gianni, who then makes way on the scoresheet for the Celli brothers – Thomas and Simone – to seal a 3-0 lead at half-time. Mazza piles on in the 6th minute of the second half, followed by Muccioli, who takes advantage of the numerical superiority after Para is sent off with a straight red. The Juvenes-Dogana captain returns to the scoresheet late on to wrap up a 7-0 win, after Thomas Celli had also struck again to make it 6-0 and complete his own brace. Fiorentino remain stuck on 3 points, the same tally as San Giovanni, who see their chance of a second positive result of the season slip away only in the dying minutes. The match with Domagnano is extremely cagey. San Giovanni survive the dismissal (second yellow) of captain Volpinari midway through the second half. And just when 0-0 seemed destined for the archives, up pops the other captain, Menghi, to pull the chestnuts out of the fire for the Wolves and deliver their second win in a row. That allows the Giallorossi to break through the 10-point barrier and apply a bit of pressure on Pennarossa, currently level with them in fifth place.

Domagnano certainly pull clear in the table of Cosmos, who lose – heavily – their Multieventi clash with Tre Penne. Penserini’s side make it back-to-back victories and confirm themselves as the third force in the single group. Cola opens and closes the 5-0 scoreline at the Serravalle arena: between his brace in the No. 9 shirt come goals from Gamba, Beinat and Rossi, while Cosmos finish the game a man down after Francioni is shown a straight red. La Fiorita had hoped for a slip-up from Tre Penne but must instead continue to settle for fourth place. Still, Pietrangeli’s team can take comfort from a return to winning ways. Bottom side Tre Fiori, still on zero points, try to make life difficult for their opponents: Severi scores almost immediately, but that is not enough to unsettle the Montegiardino outfit, who hit back through Raschi and Matteo Chezzi and then pull away before the interval thanks to Tassitano and a Pellegrini brace. The latter is on target again midway through the second half, after Alberelli and Severi had tried to drag Tre Fiori back into contention. Matteo Chezzi nets twice more to join Pellegrini among the evening’s hat-trick heroes, snuffing out even Tre Fiori’s final attempt at a comeback, signed by Berardi.

The matchday will be completed by tonight’s clash between Virtus and Faetano and tomorrow’s game between Pennarossa and Folgore.
