Futsal: Pellegrini drives La Fiorita in the big match, first win joy for Libertas
La Fiorita give themselves a Christmas present: they win the big match with Virtus and leapfrog Pennarossa into second place, with the latter closing out 2024 on their bye week. The game in Domagnano is as lively as expected. Pasqualini breaks the deadlock on 6 minutes, and the neroverde all-rounder strikes again straight after Pellegrini’s equaliser. Pellegrini again takes responsibility to haul La Fiorita back level inside the final 10 minutes of the first half, the same spell in which Giuccioli finds the goal that completes the gialloblù comeback. At the start of the second half Baldelli hints at an escape, but Virtus wipe it out with quick‑fire goals from Di Maio and Stolfi, both coming before the midway point of the half. The last word, however, belongs to Pellegrini, whose hat‑trick makes him the standout figure in a hugely important victory for Traviglia’s men, now officially leading the pack chasing Murata. For their part, the bianconeri pacesetters will be grateful, as they stretch their advantage over the field. The mission to clinch win number 12 (from 13 games) is carried out with great diligence by Spada’s side, who even hit double figures in the derby with Tre Penne. Moretti is the undisputed star on the scoresheet: he opens the floodgates and then makes it 2-0; the number 8 will go on to crown his display with four goals of his own. The other multiple scorers are Mattioli and Ghiotti, both netting braces. Cesarini’s strike and an Ercolani own goal complete Murata’s tally of ten, while Tre Penne’s only goal, arriving at 5-0 down, is scored by Gamba. The only sour note in Max Spada’s evening is goalkeeper Protti’s sending‑off on 16 minutes (straight red).
Tre Penne lose touch with fifth place, still held by Domagnano, who close the calendar year by bouncing back from the previous round’s defeat and significantly cutting the gap to the group chasing direct play-off spots. The Wolves have few problems in seeing off Faetano, already two down at the break (goals from Vagnini and Davide Dolcini), unable to take advantage of a 10‑metre free‑kick seconds from half-time (Muraccini saves El Attar’s attempt), and then forced to concede three more after the restart to Filippo Dolcini, Vagnini (who completes his brace) and finally Righi. Faetano can now feel the breath of Libertas on their necks, as they are able to celebrate on the same night both their first win of the season and climbing above San Giovanni. The Borgo Maggiore derby is decided by an unfortunate touch from the rossonero goalkeeper Valentini, diverting a long‑range effort from Morelli into his own net: it came at the start of the second half and that’s how it would finish, 1-0. Fiorentino beat Folgore and draw level with them in the table, ending a negative run that had stretched to three matches. Casali puts the Falciano side ahead on 20 minutes, but they then lose Bacciocchi to a straight red card: right at the end of the resulting power‑play Fiorentino find the breakthrough through Paoloni to go into half-time on level terms. Bernardi completes the turnaround 12 minutes into the second half, but Folgore respond through Beccari. On 55 minutes Paoloni restores Fiorentino’s lead and completes his brace, swiftly emulated by Bernardi. Before the final buzzer Folgore get back into it again with Ercolani, but cannot find any further spark to salvage a result. Fiorentino are level on points with Folgore, as mentioned, and also level with Cosmos, who extend their unbeaten run with a 4-4 draw against Juvenes‑Dogana in another of the evening’s derbies. And in truth there is plenty of regret in the gialloverdi camp, given that their “cousins” equalise with virtually the last kick. Molinas and Bacciocchi put Muccioli’s men 2-0 up inside the first quarter of an hour. Zonzini pulls one back, but Cosmos find another surge to race into a 4-1 lead: Cerquetti and Molinas again appear to have wrapped up a victory, only for Mularoni and Bologna to drag Juvenes‑Dogana back into it, and then, in stoppage time, for Simone Celli to rescue Juvenes‑Dogana from what would have been a third straight defeat. Tre Fiori take advantage to move clear of Levani’s side and to chip away at the likes of Folgore and Cosmos themselves, as well as Tre Penne, who nonetheless remain at a decent distance from Pollini’s men. The latter deal with Cailungo without major trouble. The 6-1 scoreline at the Acquaviva gym is opened by Ciacci, who also doubles the lead. Alongside the number 14, formerly of Pennarossa, there is joy for Podeschi and Casadei (both scoring in first‑half added time) and for Tamagnini, while Cailungo slightly sweeten the pill with Sarti’s strike before their mood sours again when Flammini sees red, handing Tre Fiori a power‑play which they exploit as Ciacci finds the net again to make it 6-1 and complete his hat‑trick.
