Futsal: Pennarossa and Murata remain out in front

Pennarossa and Murata both win their respective matches and remain alone at the top of the San Marino Futsal Championship. After yesterday evening’s fixtures, which opened the third round, the Black and Whites and the Red and Whites are the only sides with a perfect record. Starting with reigning champions Murata, they cruise to a comprehensive 5-0 win over Fiorentino. On the Multieventi court it’s all straightforward for Screti’s team, who break the deadlock early on with a Molinas brace inside the first ten minutes. After the break the Black and Whites press home their advantage, scoring again through Recober, Mattioli and Semperlotti. Murata thus make it three wins from three, while Fiorentino suffer their first defeat of the season.

A perfect start also for Pennarossa, who get the better of Tre Penne – still without a point in the table – with one goal in each half. Celli strikes in the first period, while Gasperoni seals it on 46 minutes. The Red and Whites stay on maximum points alongside the aforementioned Murata at the top of the standings.

La Fiorita, on the other hand, lose ground as they are held to a draw by a good Libertas side. In Fiorentino it is Cevoli who opens the scoring for the Gialloblù, who then double their lead at the start of the second half through Ercolani. The Granata do not give up and on 43 minutes former La Fiorita player Jacopo Giuccioli pulls one back. A few minutes later an own goal by Elia Pasqualini (curiously also the league’s top scorer with five goals) fixes the result at 2-2. La Fiorita remain in third place, while Libertas, who had a bye in the previous round, stay unbeaten.

The same scoreline between Tre Fiori and Domagnano, in a match full of twists, especially at the end. Early on it is the Giallorossi who take the lead through Cavalli, and the score remains unchanged until the 54th minute, when Oddone turns the game on its head in the space of a minute. It looks done and dusted for Tre Fiori, but with almost no time left Cavalli again responds to his opponent’s brace and makes it 2-2 for the Wolves. The drama does not end there, because shortly afterwards Tre Fiori have the chance to win it with an accumulated free-kick taken by Oddone, but his effort crashes spectacularly against the crossbar. First point of the season for Domagnano, while Tre Fiori are still searching for their first win.

Three points do go the way of Virtus, thanks to a three-goal haul against Cailungo. A Belloni penalty breaks the deadlock in Fiorentino in the first half, before Lotti doubles the advantage for Michelotti’s team after the restart. To make matters worse for the Rossoverdi at the end, they concede an own goal by Flammini and also suffer two red cards shown to Meloni and Moroni. Virtus run out 3-0 winners, claiming their first victory of the season.
