Futsal: Pennarossa out to defend top spot, key clashes at the top

The San Marino Futsal Championship is gearing up for the sixth matchday, with a revised schedule to allow players who have recently been on duty with the senior National Team at the international tournament in Poreč, Croatia, to recover from the efforts of the trip. The round will run from tomorrow through to Wednesday, with Pennarossa looking to defend top spot and the chasing pack ready to seize on any slip-up. The Biancorossi lead the table with a perfect record of five wins from five and can also boast one of the most prolific attacks in the league. Behind them, La Fiorita and Murata will try to keep pace with the leaders on a matchday that offers several intriguing encounters both at the top and in the middle of the standings.

Getting things underway, tomorrow night at 22:00 at the Multieventi Sport Domus, will be Fiorentino v Faetano. Only a few points separate the two sides, who will do everything they can to bounce back from the last round; Fiorentino in particular are called upon to respond after the heavy defeat against Pennarossa.

On Tuesday the programme resumes with five fixtures. At 20:15, at the Fiorentino stadium, Murata will take on Domagnano. The Bianconeri need to respond to the heavy 5-0 defeat suffered against Tre Fiori in the last round, a result that ended their perfect start. On the other side, the Lupi come into the game on the back of two consecutive wins and are aiming to continue their climb up the table. At the same time, at the Acquaviva stadium, La Fiorita will face Virtus. The Gialloblù’s objective is to give continuity to the results achieved in this opening phase and stay on Pennarossa’s tail, always hoping for a slip from the leaders. The second match on both pitches, as usual, will be at 21:45: the schedule features San Giovanni v Cailungo at the Fiorentino stadium, and Tre Fiori v Libertas at the Acquaviva stadium. San Giovanni’s Rossoneri are still looking for their first points of the season and will have to try to turn things around against a Cailungo side who, with just one point on the board, need results to move away from the bottom places. The meeting between Tre Fiori and Libertas is instead significant for the upper reaches of the table: the Gialloblù come into it after a convincing win over Murata and will look to build on their positive run, while the Granata, despite defeat to Tre Penne, can still consolidate their position in the upper half of the standings. Rounding off Tuesday night, at 22:00 at the Acquaviva sports hall, will be Folgore v Pennarossa. The leaders go into the game aiming to extend their perfect streak, but will face a Folgore side eager to climb the table. The Giallorossoneri have collected six points from their first four matches, and a win against the league leaders could represent a significant turning point in their season.

On Wednesday evening, at 22:00 at the Multieventi Sport Domus, the round will conclude with the Serravalle derby between Cosmos and Juvenes Dogana. The Gialloverdi, coming off their rest week, currently occupy fourth place with ten points and aim to stay attached to the leading group. Juvenes Dogana, for their part, will be looking for a positive result to improve their position in a particularly tight mid-table area, also benefiting from the chance to know the other results before taking to the pitch.

Tre Penne sit this one out, and will be watching the San Giovanni v Cailungo derby with particular interest.
