Futsal: top three win again, first points for San Giovanni

The leading trio keep their perfect run going and try to open up a gap. Matchday six of the San Marino Futsal Championship confirms the good form of Pennarossa, La Fiorita and Murata, all victorious in their respective fixtures and able to pull away from the chasing pack. Behind them, San Giovanni finally collect their first three points of the season, while Libertas are the stars of the evening’s biggest win.

In Fiorentino, Murata halt Domagnano’s positive streak, prevailing 2-1 at the end of a match decided only in the closing stages. After the Bianconeri went ahead through Enzo Molinas on 41 minutes, the Wolves levelled through Sensoli in the 56th minute. When the draw seemed already written, it was the Bianconeri captain Mattioli who, in the final minute, handed Murata three vital points. A win that restores confidence to the Bianconeri after their setback against Tre Fiori and slows the pace of a Domagnano side coming off two consecutive victories. Also in Fiorentino came San Giovanni’s first win of the season, a 2-0 success over Cailungo in the head-to-head clash between the bottom two. Jacopo Berardi broke the deadlock on 33 minutes from the penalty spot, while Bernacchia wrapped it up in the 59th minute. An important victory for Leonardo Palermino’s men, who climb off the foot of the table, leaving that position to the Rossoverdi.

In Acquaviva, on the outside court, La Fiorita and Virtus produced a goal-filled, entertaining contest. The Gialloblù made a blistering start and after just four minutes were already two goals up thanks to Pasqualini and Matteo Chezzi. The Virtus response was swift: Belloni netted a personal hat-trick, with his first two goals making it 2-2 at half-time. After the restart La Fiorita came out with greater conviction and moved 5-2 ahead thanks to Pasqualini, Zafferani and Matteo Chezzi again. The match, however, was far from over: Belloni reduced the deficit further and, late on, Virtus also found the net through Beccari for the final 5-4. The comeback mounted by Matteo Michelotti’s side fell just short of an equaliser, while La Fiorita took home three precious points to stay in the leading group. Libertas’ victory was even more emphatic, as they overwhelmed Tre Fiori 11-1. The Granata put the game firmly in their favour in the first half, driven by Moretti, who scored four consecutive goals between the 6th and 20th minutes. Completing the first-half haul were Simone Baldelli, Riccardo Michelotti and Andrea Selva. After the break Oddone struck on 35 minutes for Tre Fiori’s consolation, but Libertas kept pressing: Riccardo Michelotti grabbed his second of the night, followed by Mattia Michelotti, Lorenzo Paesini and Saraga.

In the final match of the evening, at the Acquaviva Sports Hall, Pennarossa defended top spot with a 3-0 win over Folgore. Timpani opened the scoring on 9 minutes, then in the second half it was Verri who took centre stage with a brace, scoring in the 35th and 52nd minutes. The Biancorossi proved more clinical in front of goal and managed their lead well, while Folgore can still take confidence from their performance against the league leaders: some wasted chances and the opposition goalkeeper’s interventions prevented Federico Baldarelli’s men from getting back into the contest.

Matchday six will be completed this evening with the Serravalle derby between Cosmos and Juvenes Dogana, scheduled for 22:00 at the Multieventi. Cosmos will have the opportunity to stay attached to the leading trio, while Juvenes Dogana will be chasing points to climb a table that remains very tight in the middle positions.
