Futsal: Tre Penne also maintain a perfect record

Tre Penne keep pace with the other three leaders by defeating Fiorentino in the last of the postponed fixtures from Matchday 3. For long spells the game at the Multieventi was tight and cagey: Tre Penne have the first go with Cola, who tries a diagonal effort from distance but fails to catch Marinelli out. Fiorentino reply with a toe-poke from Para from outside the area, but the trajectory is comfortable for Casadei. Fiorentino threaten again with a corner-kick routine: Bernardi tees up Paoloni, who pulls his right-footed effort too far wide. From the restart, Casadei releases Ercolani down the flank, and he goes it alone but is unable to find enough angle on his finish. A poor turnover by Fiorentino presents Ercolani with a second chance: this time the No 19 opts for the unselfish choice, squaring to the far post for Cola, who however misjudges his stride and with it the chance to make a clean connection. From another Tre Penne counter, right at the end of the first half, comes the goal that breaks the deadlock: Beinat finds Gabrielli, who has time to pick his spot and curl the ball into the far top corner.

The 2-0, which arrives straight after the restart, is also born from a counter-attack: Beinat loses the ball and Bernardi immediately drives it towards Casadei’s goal, albeit from a tight angle; the move stays alive and Beinat atones for his earlier lapse by leading the transition that goes through Gabrielli and finally reaches Sabatino, who does well to turn his team-mate’s perfect assist into a goal. Midway through the half Fiorentino halve the deficit from a corner: Paolini swings the ball towards the far post for Para who, left all alone by the Biancazzurri defence, has no trouble tapping in from point-blank range. That episode does not trigger a Rossoblù comeback. On the contrary, it is Tre Penne who have the chance to kill the game off through Cola, played in once again by the ever-dangerous Gabrielli: Righi’s recovery run ensures the No 9’s seemingly certain goal attempt is ultimately harmless. Even the narrowest of leads is enough for Penserini’s side to continue sailing along with a perfect record alongside the frontrunners Virtus, Murata and La Fiorita. Fiorentino, meanwhile, remain scoreless after three matches.
