Futsal: Virtus back to winning ways and into the upper reaches of the table

Virtus get back to winning ways after a victory that had been missing since Matchday 2, and climb into the play-off zone at the expense of Domagnano, who drop to ninth place. Thanks to the four-goal haul against San Giovanni in the second and final Monday night fixture of Matchday 7, Michelotti’s men make a multiple leap up the table, moving into seventh place level on points with Juvenes Dogana but actually ahead of them on goal difference. As mentioned, the Neroverdi had gone three games without a win, a run in which they had picked up only a draw (against Juvenes themselves). Coming off their first league victory, San Giovanni proved to be a tricky opponent throughout the first half. Dolcini, however, broke the Rossoneri resistance at the start of the second half, setting the tone for what would become a comprehensive victory. Shortly afterwards, the young Virtus and National Team player was joined on the scoresheet by Belloni, who then struck again on 54 minutes, just a few minutes before Viggiani made it 4-0 – a scoreline that remained unchanged at the final whistle. San Giovanni fail to build on their derby success and now find themselves alone in second-from-bottom spot, given Tre Penne’s win in Monday’s game.
