Futsal: Virtus shift up to fifth, first win for Fiorentino

Virtus make it five wins from five. Michelotti’s side do not slip up and, in last night’s matchday five fixture of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal, defeat Tre Penne to strengthen their lead at the top of the table. The win bears the hallmark of the duo Pasqualini-Zafferani, architects of the Neroverdi’s goals in the 5-2 final scoreline in Domagnano. Pasqualini struck twice in the first half, then completed his hat-trick at the start of the second period. Within a few minutes Zafferani also got in on the act with a brace. In between the former Fiorentino player’s double, Tre Penne pulled one back through Sabatino, before Littera made the defeat slightly less heavy with the second goal for the Biancoazzurri, who are forced to bow for the first time in the league.

Behind leaders Virtus, Murata keep up the pace by sweeping aside San Giovanni. At the Multieventi it is total dominance from the reigning champions, who overwhelm the Rossoneri with a resounding 18-0. The Bianconeri goals – nine in each half – come from Busignani (5), De Angelis (hat-trick), Mattioli (2), Moretti (2), Aruci (2), Zanotti (2) and Contato (2). With this victory Murata stay just two points behind Virtus.

The most entertaining match of the evening was probably the one in Domagnano between Pennarossa and Cosmos. Between the Biancorossi and the Gialloverdi it finished in a spectacular 3-3 draw. Early on Molinas opened the scoring and Toccaceli replied. An own goal by Giacomo Francioni put Pennarossa ahead, but Molinas struck again to level things up before the break. Chiesanuova’s side moved back in front through Toccaceli again (43’), but with almost the last kick Lorenzo Bacciocchi made it 3-3.

Fiorentino can also celebrate after managing to record their first league win of the season last night. The match-winner for the Rossoblù is Matteo Zaghini, who scored on 24 minutes to sink Cailungo. The Rossoverdi were also unable to take advantage of the extra man following the sending-off of Paolo Guerra in the 39th minute.

One point each instead for Folgore and Domagnano. In Dogana it ends 1-1, with the Giallorossi now three games without a win. Both goals arrive after the break: Hidri puts Fabio Gasperoni’s team ahead on 40 minutes, then shortly afterwards Molari equalises for the Falciano club. Folgore remain unbeaten in four matches and are level with Pennarossa on 8 points.

Matchday five of the futsal league continues this evening with the indoor clash at the Acquaviva sports hall between Juvenes-Dogana and La Fiorita (kick-off at 22:00), before concluding on Thursday evening – same venue – with Faetano-Libertas.
