League: hard‑earned three points for Tre Penne and Tre Fiori

After Virtus’ win in Saturday’s early kick-off, Tre Fiori are called upon to respond and reclaim top spot. Girolomoni’s side – whose coach was named Manager of the Month for September before kick-off – make a strong start, but keep running into a superb Papi. The Giallorossi goalkeeper is outstanding on Vandi’s driven cross-shot and on Bernardi’s effort, and he also bails out Guglielmi after the latter gives the ball away on the edge of the area to Mema, who is less than clinical with his finish. No better is Dolcini’s mistake when he surrenders possession in his own third, allowing Domagnano to break through the middle with Babboni: the forward, one-on-one with Nardi, tries to hurdle the keeper in full stride but fails. The Giallorossi protest on 22 minutes when, from a corner, Nardi comes out and misses and Sancisi does all he can to stop Perazzini reaching the ball. Shortly afterwards, Tre Fiori strike: Pesaresi swings in a cross and Prandelli launches himself into a diving header, an angel-like flight that leaves Papi with no chance. It’s a stunning goal from the captain, who moves on to four goals in five matches. Mema, by contrast, is guilty of a lack of composure: on 33 minutes the forward wastes a five‑on‑two counter-attack by shooting wide. Girolomoni’s side almost pay for it at the end of the half when Gozzi’s diagonal effort from the heart of the area drifts just a few centimetres wide of the right-hand post. Tre Fiori manage their lead well after the restart. In fact, with a quarter of an hour to go Censoni has the chance to double the advantage – his curling left-footer finishing just over the bar. Prandelli then tries his luck from further out with a 25‑metre free kick, again bent towards goal, but that is the last real thrill before Domagnano’s final all-out assault. The Wolves appeal for a foul in the last goalmouth scramble, but the referee waves play on: Tre Fiori’s perfect start continues with fifteen points from five games.

Libertas and Murata create only a handful of chances between them in the first half in Fiorentino, which hosts the season’s first Campionato Sammarinese fixture. Libertas threaten through Fadel and Casotti, but it is the Bianconeri who break the deadlock – helped by a misjudged intervention from Manuel Nigro. N’Dre pounces and powers Kouyoumdjian’s corner into the back of the net. Early in the second half Salemme has the opportunity to make it 2-0, but Nigro redeems himself by shutting the door on the Murata striker. As time goes on, Libertas grow into the game and the equaliser is a direct consequence: from a corner and the ensuing scramble, Severi appears to get the decisive touch on a ball that had bounced off Cirillo’s thigh. In the final twenty minutes the game opens up and Nigro and Bracconi take centre stage, with the latter making a crucial save on David Tommasini’s thunderbolt, which then crashes against the crossbar. On the follow-up, the Granata appeal for a possible handball by Bello. On 82 minutes Severi has the chance to complete the comeback, but Bracconi is once again decisive – just as Nigro is at the other end when he keeps out Gashi’s attempted dink in the 90+2nd minute. Shortly before that, Labas – again for Murata – had struck the angle of post and bar with a brilliant turn and shot.

In Domagnano, Tre Penne come flying out of the blocks, denied by the woodwork and by Tordella in a first half in which the difference is made by Gregorio. The centre-back puts them 1-0 up on 43 minutes, losing his marker from a Pastorelli corner and finishing from close range. As early as the 7th minute Berardi’s side had gone close, but the Biancorossi keeper managed to tip Turchetta’s right-footed effort onto the crossbar. Tordella is also decisive in a one‑on‑one with De Melo on 16 minutes. From the resulting corner, Domini is just as crucial: positioned at the near post, he takes on the keeper’s role to divert Badalassi’s seemingly certain header behind. Soon afterwards Loiodice complains about a penalty not being given: Vandi is perfectly placed to judge. Pennarossa show themselves with a move involving Cobo and Gregori, but Avgul is alert. Before Gregorio’s goal, Turchetta is again denied by the frame of the goal: this time by the post to Tordella’s right, which comes to the keeper’s rescue on the winger’s precise diagonal strike. After the break Pennarossa raise their tempo and spend long spells in the opposition third. Gregori and Dulcetti both try their luck without real bite, while at the other end Badalassi and Peluso continue to test Tordella – one of the standout performers. On 79 minutes Pennarossa squander their best chance to level when Tumidei is allowed a free header but fails to hit the target from a favourable position. Ricchiuti’s men keep pushing until the end, inevitably leaving space for Tre Penne’s counter-attacks, and they are punished on 84 minutes: Avgul triggers De Melo’s break, and the forward times his pass perfectly for Turchetta, who this time finds the net with a diagonal finish that kills off the game and takes Tre Penne up to joint second alongside Virtus.
