League: straightforward wins for Folgore, Domagnano and La Fiorita
Three clear-cut wins in this afternoon’s matches on Matchday 7 of the Campionato Sammarinese. Folgore return to winning ways, putting three past Pennarossa; a similar scoreline for La Fiorita, who beat Libertas 3-1 and remain unbeaten. It’s an even heavier win for Domagnano, who claim their second victory on the bounce with a comprehensive 6-0 over Murata.
The clash in Acquaviva between Folgore and Pennarossa is unlocked shortly before the 18th minute: Azzurro gives away a poor ball on the edge of his own defensive third, Daidola pounces to intercept and serves Fall, who in turn spots Augusto Garcia Rufer. The former San Giovanni forward hits the post, but is the quickest to react on the rebound and fires home. Folgore end the first half in the best possible way by doubling their lead: Gaido threads a vertical pass for Daidola, who unleashes a powerful strike at the near post. Lazzarini gets a touch but can’t prevent his side from going two down. For Daidola it’s his seventh goal of the league campaign, confirming him as the top scorer.
After the restart Pennarossa begin to show something as well, but without really troubling De Angelis. In the 73rd minute, however, the game is effectively wrapped up as Lasagni’s side make it 3-0: Dulcetti loses the ball on the edge of the box, Fall picks out Garcia Rufer in the area, who completes his brace. Shortly before the 90th minute Pennarossa also have a chance through Varrella, just centimetres away from scoring. Folgore take the win and move alone into third place – five points off leaders Tre Fiori.
Just one point behind the Falciano side are Domagnano, who at Montecchio record a second consecutive win thanks to the 6-0 against Murata. The Giallorossi need only eleven minutes to take the lead, with Buda slipping a pass from the edge of the area into the path of Bonetti, who meets it first time with his right and finishes clinically across goal. Just three minutes later the Wolves double their advantage: Buda again works the ball from outside the box, shifts it onto his left with a feint and strikes it perfectly into the corner. Domagnano are still not satisfied and on the half-hour mark they add a third: Santi wins a penalty (foul by N’Dre on the San Marino forward) which he then converts, sending Bracconi the wrong way. The Giallorossi are in total control and in the 40th minute they score again: Santi robs N’Dre of the ball in the final third and immediately serves Bonetti, who from the edge of the area finishes first time to make it 4-0 and complete his personal brace.
Despite the wide gap, the match remains lively at the start of the second half as well. After only a few minutes it’s Murata who go close to scoring with a fine free-kick from Theo that clips the crossbar. On the subsequent move, however, Domagnano score again: an error from Theo, who loses a bad ball inside the box, allows Bonetti to win it back easily and slot home the fifth. On an almost perfect afternoon for Domagnano, the only sour note for Amati’s team is Santi’s sending-off in the 50th minute. The San Marino forward tangles briefly with Tomassoni, the referee blows for the foul and shows a second yellow card. Even a man down, though, Domagnano further increase the gap on Murata: a persistent run from Sopranzi ends with a precise right-footed strike from the edge of the box to make it 6-0 for the Wolves in the 56th minute. It’s the goal that effectively brings the Montecchio contest to an early close.
Another win – their second in a row – for La Fiorita, who beat Libertas 3-1 and climb to sixth place in the table. The first chance of the game falls to Ceci’s side: in the 9th minute a pinpoint cross from Golia picks out the excellent run of Vitaioli, whose header looks destined for the net but crashes against the bar. Midway through the half, however, the Gialloblù find the breakthrough: Marco Gasperoni’s cross from the right is deflected by Manzaroli, and the ball drops on the left where Golia lays it off nicely for Zaccaria, who, around the penalty spot, swivels and finishes with his left to make it 1-0. Shortly before the half-time whistle La Fiorita strike again and double their lead: Vitaioli threads a ball through for Guidi, who bursts into the area and then delicately slots it into the corner.
On the hour mark the two La Fiorita players swap roles but the outcome is the same: in the 62nd minute Guidi spots the run of Vitaioli and attempts to pick him out, Jonathan gets a touch but can’t prevent the San Marino striker from finishing to make it 3-0. Ten minutes from time Libertas manage to reduce the arrears: in a tight space Severi slips the ball to Nicolini, who lashes it into the top corner for the Granata’s consolation goal.
