©FSGC/Novelli | Fusco celebrates after his superb goal that doubles Domagnano’s lead
League: three-goal wins for Domagnano and Pennarossa
Domagnano all about the number three: a third straight win for the Giallorossi, who beat Cailungo 3-0 in the late fixture of the eighth round of the league. Amati’s side fly out of the blocks and break the deadlock in the 3rd minute: a long ball from Fusco to Bonetti, Iuzzolino fails to deal with it and the striker has the simplest of tasks. Domagnano keep pushing and it’s Bonetti again who goes centimetres away from doubling the lead and securing his brace. The Wolves dominate and on 12 minutes it takes a great save from Gallinetta on Amati’s header to prevent a third. Once the initial onslaught from their opponents has passed, Cailungo react midway through the half with a good long-range effort from Michelucci that forces Papi into action. The Rossoverdi grow into the game and early in the second half also appeal for a penalty for an alleged foul by Papi on Bua, but referee Colonna is not of the same opinion. Cailungo fail to get back into it and so Domagnano in the 72nd minute look to close it out: the 2-0 goal bears the signature of Fusco, who brings the ball under control around 30 yards out and then strikes it superbly into the top corner. No better way to score your first league goal. If the second had brought the Giallorossi closer to victory, the third arrives in the 78th minute to definitively put the game to bed: Babboni drives forward and shoots from the edge of the box, hitting the post; on the loose ball comes Bonetti, who completes his brace (his sixth goal in the league, second only to Daidola on 7). Domagnano win and stand alone in fourth place.
Pennarossa also claim victory against San Marino Academy: for the Biancorossi it is a second win in the last three. In Acquaviva the deadlock is broken on 17 minutes: Della Balda brings down Domini in the box and it’s a penalty to Pennarossa. Pintore steps up and makes it 1-0. Penalties were very much in fashion in Acquaviva this weekend (three were awarded yesterday in Juvenes-Dogana – Tre Penne) because on 25 minutes one is given to the Academy as well. Filippo Tordella is late coming out on Simone Tamagnini and Mineo points to the spot. For the Titani it’s Marfella who slots it into the bottom corner for 1-1. Pennarossa respond and shortly afterwards go back in front: a great solo run from Eleas Zahir, who weaves his way through the Academy area and finishes with a right-foot shot across goal that leaves Cenci rooted. The match remains finely balanced and in the 73rd minute the Academy have a chance with a fine curling right-foot effort from Della Balda, but it meets the crucial save from Filippo Tordella. A few minutes later Pennarossa seal the win: a lay-off from Martini for Pintore, who hits it first time from distance for a stunning goal. A brace for the Pennarossa forward, who both opens and closes the contest in Acquaviva. With this victory the Biancorossi move into sole possession of ninth place.
