San Marino Championship - 08 November 2025

League: Virtus and Tre Fiori keep climbing

Virtus and Tre Fiori both win and remain level at the top of the league. In the Matchday 9 curtain-raisers there are yet more victories for the Neroverdi and the Gialloblù, ahead of the blockbuster clash next round scheduled for Saturday 22 November.

We begin with the match in Acquaviva between Cailungo and Tre Fiori. The Gialloblù waste no time and strike in the 3rd minute with a pinpoint corner from Benedettini onto the head of Prandelli, who nods in his sixth goal of the league campaign. Tre Fiori keep pushing and on 20 minutes double their lead through a fine angled finish from Censoni, who beats Gallinetta from the edge of the box. It’s the first league goal of the season for the San Marino midfielder. Before the break (43’) Cailungo pull one back with a brilliant goal from Kevin Inzerauto, who fires past Nardi from distance with a powerful, precise left-footer. The contest remains finely balanced after the restart, with a good chance for each side in quick succession. On 66 minutes Quaranta scores, but the referee disallows it for an offside by Gimenez – who had provided the lay-off. In the very next move it is Censoni who wastes the opportunity to make it three. It is only a matter of time, though, before Tre Fiori try to put it to bed on 77 minutes: a great move initiated by Braschi, who plays vertically for Mema; he squares it into the box for Pini, who taps home. The definitive seal for Girolomoni’s Gialloblù arrives on 84 minutes with Mema’s left-foot finish in the area. Tre Fiori run out 4-1 winners and stay top of the league alongside Virtus.

The Neroverdi from Acquaviva defeat Juvenes-Dogana in a match that is anything but straightforward, despite the final scoreline of 3-0 for Bizzotto’s side. The first half is very even between the two teams. On the half-hour mark Scappini scores a wonderful swivel volley, but it is all chalked off for offside against the striker just before he struck. Moments later Scappini is again the biggest threat, but this time Colonna produces a superb save. Juvenes-Dogana soon respond, hitting the post through Gaiani from a free kick; the move continues with a surging run by Niang to the other end, where he sets up Buonocunto, but Colonna pulls off another outstanding stop to keep the match goalless. On 55 minutes, however, the deadlock is broken: it takes a fantastic goal from Virtus to take the lead. Buonocunto combines with Lombardi, who first drives at Bakalyar, then cuts inside onto his right and strikes perfectly from the edge, beating Colonna. Another big chance for Virtus arrives on 62 minutes from a Buonocunto free kick, this time a delightful curler that Colonna claws away with yet another decisive save. It is an entertaining match with plenty of chances. In the 67th minute it is Passaniti who takes centre stage, making a crucial save from Gianmaria Borghini’s free kick to preserve the precious lead. Virtus know they need to kill off the game and on 78 minutes they step on the gas: Lombardi skips past two men and fires in a perfect ball at the near post, where Scappini finishes like a true number nine. The Neroverdi striker is still not done and, on 86 minutes, starts to write the final chapter when Montanari threads a wonderful ball in behind and he converts it for the definitive 3-0 with a left-foot shot from the edge. It is an eighth straight win for Virtus, while Juvenes-Dogana have not tasted victory since 27 September.

Cosmos return to winning ways, edging past Fiorentino by the narrowest of margins. The first real chance at the “Federico Crescentini” in Fiorentino comes shortly after the quarter-hour mark with a low cross from the byline by Diop towards the run of Gjonaj, who shoots from point-blank range, but Semprini’s reflex save is decisive. His opposite number in the Rossoblù shirt, Simone Benedettini, is no less impressive as he says no to Gjurchinoski’s thunderous drive on 42 minutes. The Croatian forward of Cosmos then plays a key role in his side taking the lead. On 63 minutes Carubini bursts down the left and, once at the byline, hangs a cross to the far post where Gjurchinoski brings it down and makes it 1-0. That proves enough for Cosmos to record a fourth win in their last five outings. It is a rough patch for Fiorentino, who have collected just one point from their last five league matches.

A last-gasp draw between Libertas and Pennarossa, the only stalemate among the 15:00 kick-offs. There is little to note in the first half in Montecchio. We have to wait until the 36th minute, when Azzurro wins the ball back on the edge of the attacking third and slides a vertical pass to Pintore, who strikes first time and surprises Manzaroli to give the Biancorossi the lead. Libertas reply shortly afterwards (43’) when Quarta hits the outside of the post. Pennarossa’s advantage holds until the 76th minute, when Libertas manage to level things up. A cross comes in from the right by Nigro, Capparelli provides an excellent knock-down for Quarta, who drills it past Lazzarini from the edge of the box. Pennarossa react superbly and on 82 minutes go back in front: excellent work from Pintore who, after scoring, now provides the decisive assist for Tumidei, sending him clear from his own half; for the San Marino forward it is then a simple task to beat Manzaroli in the one-on-one. It seems done and dusted for Ricchiuti’s team, but on the final play Libertas manage to score again: everyone in the box for Morelli’s corner and, in the scramble Pezzella pops up to make it 2-2 in the 97th minute.

Goalless draw in the 18:15 match between Tre Penne and Domagnano. The clash in Acquaviva starts brightly as a left-foot strike from Bonetti – one of the in-form players in the league – from distance crashes against the angle of post and bar before rebounding off Migani’s back, but the ball rolls behind, sparing the Biancazzurri goalkeeper. Clear chances then dry up in Acquaviva. On 53 minutes Berardi has a go from the edge of the box and sends it just wide. Tre Penne seem to have more in the tank, but Domagnano can rely on Papi, who on 62 minutes saves everything with a superb reaction stop to deny Berardi’s close-range header. Migani is also crucial five minutes later when he races off his line to thwart Bonetti after a nice Giallorossi counter-attack. In stoppage time there is a scare for Migani, caught out of his area, but the Tre Penne captain manages to clear the danger. Despite six minutes of time added on, the decisive breakthrough never arrives, and Tre Penne and Domagnano take a point apiece.
