League: Virtus gearing up for celebrations

The 30th and final matchday of the Campionato Sammarinese will exceptionally kick off at 16:00 for Sunday fixtures, while Saturday will feature an initial block of four games all starting at 15:00, followed by a late kick-off at 18:15.

In Domagnano, Folgore and Domagnano will meet. The Giallorossoneri, already sure of a place in the play-offs proper, want to close the regular season with a win that would allow them to cement fourth place. Lining up against them will be the Wolves, who are left only with the aim of finishing as well as possible after a season without a post-season.

Cosmos and San Marino Academy will play at the “Ezio Conti” Stadium in Dogana. Selva’s men are desperate to take all three points to secure fifth place, fending off San Giovanni and Tre Penne, both just a point behind. The Titans, for their part, will take to the pitch with a single target: avoiding bottom spot. Their long-distance duel with Pennarossa is still open, and anything other than a win may not be enough to steer clear of the least desired position.

At the “Federico Crescentini” Stadium in Fiorentino, it will be Tre Fiori v San Giovanni. The Gialloblu, already guaranteed third place, are looking for a win to give them further momentum going into the post-season. On the other side, however, they will face the Rossoneri, who are chasing fifth place, to be achieved at the expense of Tre Penne and Cosmos. 

Tre Penne and Juvenes-Dogana will kick off in Montecchio, again at 15:00. The Biancoazzurri, level on points with San Giovanni, are determined to improve their final position. Opposite them will be Fabbri’s team, who are coming off a sensational victory over La Fiorita – a result that had a major impact on the league, effectively handing the title to Virtus, but which above all sealed the Serravalle side’s place in the play-offs.

Also in Montecchio, but at 18:15, the derby between Libertas and Cailungo will be played – a clash between the two clubs from Borgo Maggiore which, however, will have no bearing on the play-off picture, as both are already focused on next season. If anything, the Rossoverdi, fresh from a 7-0 win over Pennarossa, can aim to snatch their rivals’ place in the table.

On Sunday, in Domagnano, Faetano and Fiorentino will face off at 16:00. The Gialloblu have not won for over a month and a half and risk being overtaken by Juvenes-Dogana, who are just one point back. On the other side, the Rossoblu, now out of contention for direct play-off qualification, are seeking a win to build momentum ahead of the post-season. 

At the same time, but at the Dogana Stadium, Pennarossa and Virtus will take to the field. The Biancorossi, bottom of the table, must bounce back from last round’s bitter defeat and try to pull off an upset against the team that has dominated the league. Virtus, newly crowned champions for the second season running, will officially celebrate the Scudetto and receive the trophy, but want to put the finishing touches on this extraordinary campaign. 

At the Montecchio Stadium, meanwhile, it will be La Fiorita v Murata. Ceci’s men need to quickly put behind them the loss to Juvenes-Dogana, which ended their unbeaten run and handed the title to Virtus. To round off the regular season positively, the Gialloblu must get back to winning ways. On the other side, the Bianconeri, coming off three consecutive draws, want to pick up points by trying to exploit their opponents’ difficult moment. The match between La Fiorita and Murata will also be streamed on the FIFA+ platform.
