Murata-Pennarossa to decide the 2025 Givova Futsal Super Cup

For the first time in the history of San Marino competitions, futsal will also have its first trophy with a title sponsor. The Futsal Super Cup, which will offer yet another showdown between Murata and Pennarossa – last season’s finalists in the Campionato Sammarinese and the Titano Futsal Cup – is in fact directly associated with Givova. The first trophy of the 2025-26 season will be awarded on Monday 29 September at the Multieventi, with kick-off scheduled for 21:45. The match will be available live, free-to-air via streaming on TITANI.TV and unencrypted on San Marino RTV.

For Monesi’s and Spada’s sides, it will also mark their debut in domestic competitions: while for Pennarossa Monday night will be an absolute first outing, Murata come into it on the back of an exhilarating UEFA Futsal Champions League campaign at the end of August, in which the Bianconeri came close to a sensational qualification – with two wins in three matches.

A new season is about to begin and with it we immediately face the first target we want to hit,” says Massimiliano Spada, Murata head coach. “I expect a very balanced match; Pennarossa strengthened over the summer and will certainly try to make life difficult for us. We have prepared well for this important fixture, the lads are fired up and eager to show their worth. Our recent run in the Futsal Champions League has boosted our self-belief and awareness of our qualities; we are fully conscious that we have raised the bar significantly. All of this gives us extra energy going into the Super Cup and I am sure we will be ready to defend the trophies we won last year. The squad has changed in part: the new arrivals have settled in well, blending perfectly with those who stayed. A final thought goes to the presence of Antonio Jamičić, a player everyone knows, clearly of a higher level, who will put his class and experience at the team’s disposal, as he did in the Futsal Champions League. We are all extremely proud to have him with us.”

Gabriele Monesi, Pennarossa head coach, does not shy away after a season of the highest standard, which the Biancorossi intend to build on: “Our ambitions for the new season are high: we aim to confirm ourselves at the top and, where possible, even do better. Compared to last year, we start with a clear awareness of our strengths and a firm idea of what we need to do. The transfer window was less intense than the previous one, more focused on reinforcing the positions where we were lacking, while also paying attention to rejuvenating the squad. The signing of Andolina, who is already with us this year, fits these criteria. Our pre-season – Monesi continues – had been structured so that we would reach peak condition for the Super Cup. Unfortunately, national team commitments and injuries have not allowed us to prepare as we would have liked. On Monday we will go to the Multieventi with many question marks over the availability of several key men from last season’s run, while others are not at their best. It is a real shame for Pennarossa: we all believed in it and were convinced we could compete until the very end, but we cannot afford to jeopardise the regular season. Nevertheless, we will show our strength and determination as we try to win, as we have always done over the last twelve months. The rivalry with Murata is good for futsal in San Marino; we aim to renew it this year as well, with the utmost respect for other strengthened sides – such as Virtus, La Fiorita and Tre Penne – who will want to play a leading role and close the gap, primarily on us.”
