Social Responsibility: Zoppis in Coverciano to present the FSGC strategy
The FSGC had the opportunity to present its own Social Responsibility strategy to all European football associations. At the Coverciano Technical Centre, in fact, UEFA organised – in cooperation with the FIGC – the first Football and Social Responsibility workshop, dedicated to all the FSR Officers of the 55 European associations. The event is closely linked to UEFA’s "Strength Through Unity 2030" strategy, which aims to make football sustainable in every respect, taking into account eleven different areas of action. Also in attendance to welcome participants was FIGC President Gabriele Gravina.
The FSGC is one of six European football associations (together with Sweden, Scotland, Portugal, Liechtenstein and Romania) that are part of the pilot project for the creation of a national sustainability strategy, which was completed and presented at the San Marino Stadium on 24 September. In the international setting of Coverciano, FSR Officer Andrea Zoppis last Tuesday and Wednesday (18-19 October) had the opportunity and honour to present it also to his counterparts from all over Europe, underlining the strong commitment that the San Marino FA is demonstrating on these issues.
During the intensive two days of work, participants were brought up to date on the imminent developments concerning the increasingly important topics of sustainability, both environmental and in terms of human rights, as well as on the new initiatives and campaigns to raise awareness on this subject that UEFA will launch in the coming weeks in support of its strategy. To liven up and stimulate the sessions, small working groups were also organised, with the aim of sharing experiences gained in their respective national contexts and discussing possible actions to be taken individually and collectively.
Part of the programme was also devoted to recreational yet educational activities: in this regard, the best example was a Walking Football match in which participants were able to discover in an enjoyable way this new version of football, which can bring many benefits to older people and which the FSGC has already launched in recent months through a dedicated programme.
