Michelin-starred team building for San Marino FA staff
Last Thursday, 23 November, the employees and collaborators of the San Marino Football Federation took part in the first team building event organised by the FSGC. Split into four teams, they were guests of Casa Sartini – the gastronomic workshop of chef Luigi Sartini, who in his previous professional experience in the historic centre brought a Michelin star to San Marino. Following the precise – and often patient – instructions of the chef, the Federation staff competed in a team cooking challenge, all working towards a common goal: to serve a three-course dinner featuring two starters, two main courses and two desserts. The honour and responsibility of naming the winners fell to the members of the Federal Council, who arrived when the contest was almost over. Their unanimous verdict was a broad ex aequo, endorsed by Sartini himself. In many ways, this mirrors the daily professional life of all those who make up the Federation’s organisational chart: heads of departments and staff with different areas of expertise, all contributing to the ultimate goal of ensuring that every aspect of international fixtures is properly organised, and that the complex dynamics linked to the annual activity of the many football (and non-football) clubs and associations orbiting around the San Marino Football Federation are effectively managed. It was yet another demonstration, as reiterated by the Human Resources office, of how all the stakeholders in the federal ecosystem – including employees – play a vital role. The latter, in particular, are the true driving force of the organisation – even if they often work behind the scenes – and managing relationships with and between them correctly is essential. This assessment is shared by the General Secretary Luigi Zafferani, who stressed that “this first experience proved to be extremely positive, with virtually all FSGC employees taking part. They showed – if there were ever any need to repeat it – that they can work together effectively, stepping out of their comfort zone in an area of expertise not familiar to everyone, with the clear goal of producing a collective outcome. Given the success of this first edition, we can seriously consider organising similar activities in the future”.
