Women’s football: one week to the historic debut of the Under-16 National Team
In exactly seven days, the women’s Under-16 National Team will make its historic debut in an official match. This will happen within the framework of an event which, although international in nature, will be held entirely within the borders of the Republic of San Marino. The youngest of the FSGC squads, and the very first women’s side, will begin its journey in the UEFA Development Tournament on 16 April, when it faces Georgia. Kick-off is at 16:30. However, it will not be the home side in white and blue that has the honour of opening the tournament, but Luxembourg and Estonia, who meet each other, again on Tuesday 16 April, but at 10:30 in the morning. Luxembourg and Georgia will get the second matchday underway, on Thursday 18 April, with kick-off once more at 10:30, while at 16:30 the home girls will take on Georgia. The two fixtures on the third and final matchday will instead be played simultaneously. On Sunday 21 April, Georgia and Estonia will meet at 10:00, at exactly the same time as Luxembourg and San Marino. All of the Titane’s matches will be played in Acquaviva, as will the others in the tournament, with the sole exception of Georgia–Estonia, which will be hosted in Montecchio.
Expectations are rising for this historic occasion, to which everyone is invited. The backing of a large crowd will be crucial in helping to dispel any debut nerves and in giving the best possible support to Giacomo Piva’s girls in this very first European adventure. For those who are unable to be physically present at the matches in Acquaviva, there will also be the option to follow them from home, from the office, or from anywhere at all. Titani.TV will broadcast every match of the tournament live and free of charge. In short, there are many ways to be there, but the important thing is to be there. Let’s all help to write this new and hugely important chapter in the history of our football!
