Women’s U15 National Team: fine win over Reggiana rounds off first training camp cycle

The first block of training camps for the Women’s Under-15 National Team has now been concluded – with the clear intention of restarting very soon – wrapping up yesterday with a friendly against their counterparts from Reggiana. The figures are significant – 28 players were called up for the sessions held in Faetano – the enthusiasm is growing, and there is a widespread feeling that something important is beginning to blossom, set for rapid development. For the moment there are no UEFA commitments on the horizon. There is, however, a clear aim to build and blend a group of very young players who already begin to “feel” the weight of their country’s shirt, and who in the not-too-distant future will be ready when the international call comes. The same applies to the wider staff involved in recent weeks, including coaches and assistants with previous experience within San Marino Academy, as well as new entries who in turn are set to become hugely important resources for the National Teams of the future. Adding further value to this opening chapter of a story that has only just begun was the 4-3 victory over Reggiana, with goals from Lazzaretti, Castello, Francini and Forcellini. “The new Under +15 National Team project continues to grow,” comments Pierangelo Manzaroli, who, together with Gian Luca Angelini, heads up the FSGC Women’s Football Department. “After a short but intense series of technical camps, we also recorded a prestigious win against Reggiana. That was certainly not the main objective, but it still makes us very happy. The path taken by the players in our Under-15 National Team represents much more than just a sporting stage: it is the real gateway to the international women’s football movement in San Marino. The enthusiasm is tangible, as are the high expectations surrounding this newly begun journey. Watching them grow on the pitch within a structured project is a source of pride for the entire Federation and confirms the importance of investing in youth sectors and in tailored development pathways for girls. These young players represent not only the future of our football, but also concrete proof that with vision, hard work and passion it is possible to create real opportunities for the new generations.
