Futsal: chance for Juvenes, Domagnano and Cosmos; La Fiorita take on the leaders

After the quick excursus back into the first half of the season – making up the 14th matchday – the San Marino Futsal Championship schedule now returns to its natural course. The coming week will again feature a double round of fixtures, which is why there are no postponed matches. The entire 21st matchday will be played on the evening of Monday 16 February. Folgore will be the only justified absentee, as they have a bye week and are at serious risk of being overtaken or caught. Overtaking could come from Cosmos, two points behind their rivals and desperate to end a complete drought of points that has lasted four matches. The Gialloverdi – involved in the first game in Fiorentino – will have to deal with the ambition and freshness of a Fiorentino side coming off their rest week and which, in this 2026, has rediscovered sharpness and enthusiasm but above all points, strongly boosting their play-off credentials. Juvenes Dogana also have their sights set on overtaking Folgore. And rightly so, given that Cellarosi’s men are level on points with Cosmos and therefore share the same ambitions. It is also true that, on paper, their upcoming fixture looks manageable. They will in fact be facing bottom-placed San Giovanni, who will battle them for the three points in the only indoor fixture of the evening, the one at the Multieventi (10:00 p.m.). Simone Celli will miss out through suspension.

As mentioned, Folgore risk not only being overtaken but also being caught. Domagnano could do just that if they manage to claim a third consecutive win at the expense of Libertas, who, after beating Faetano, have slipped back to dropping points and places in the table, and now find themselves dangerously close to the swampy waters of the Single Group. Not involved in the clash in Domagnano – the first of the evening at 8:15 p.m. – will be the Granata coach Levani, suspended like Baldelli. Afterwards, the synthetic turf in Domagnano will host Tre Penne and Cailungo. The former are looking for an immediate reaction after the defeat that halted a run of eight wins in a row. It is a must if they are to avoid seeing Murata break away for good and to keep the chasers at bay. The latter, meanwhile, are chasing continuity after their win over Libertas, which allowed the red-and-greens to climb up to 10th place. Hoping for a favour from Cailungo is Virtus, who on Thursday closed the gap to Tre Penne to two points and are aiming to continue their climb. To do so, however, Michelotti’s men must first get the better of a Tre Fiori side who returned to losing ways after beating Libertas but are certainly not prepared to give up on the play-off race, currently four points away.

That match will open the evening programme in Dogana, which will be rounded off by the top clash between Murata and La Fiorita. The reigning champions have opened up a gap at the top and seem fully intent on maintaining it, if not actually extending it. On the other side, Pietrangeli’s men have completely erased the slip-up against Faetano and, with two straight wins, have gained the right momentum to approach their toughest test in the best possible shape. Pennarossa will be watching this match very closely, since, should La Fiorita fail to win, they could seriously move back to the fringes of the top four, a zone currently closed off precisely by the Montegiardino side. The latter boast a four-point lead over the Biancorossi, but that gap could shrink if Novembrini’s team, in addition to capitalising on a possible favour from Murata, live up to their billing in the clash with Faetano, wounded by the 3-4 defeat suffered against Juvenes Dogana. And that’s not all: Selva’s men are coming off three straight defeats, have slipped to fourth from bottom and will also have to do without Luca Fortunati and goalkeeper Rastelli, both suspended. Kick-off is at 9:45 p.m. in Fiorentino.
