Futsal: Juvenes Dogana face Cailungo looking to extend their respective runs

The long-distance duel between the teams currently tied for second will play out in different time slots. Virtus get things started at 20:15 in Fiorentino, against a San Giovanni side still rooted to the bottom of the table and needing something special to contain the quality of the Neroverdi, who are coming off defeat in the top-of-the-table clash and are chasing a win that has eluded them for two games. Tre Penne, on the other hand, will kick off at 21:45 in Domagnano. Waiting for Penserini’s men will be a Folgore side that immediately put the loss to La Fiorita behind them and remain settled in sixth place. Motivation is certainly not lacking in the Giallorossoneri camp, with fifth-placed Pennarossa dragged back to just four points ahead, and with the spur of a Juvenes Dogana side still right there, just one point back. By the time Folgore – Tre Penne gets under way, the latter will already have laid their cards on the table. And Gabriele Cellarosi will be hoping they are winning cards once again after last Thursday’s victory over Domagnano, which extended an unbeaten run to five matches, four of them wins. The Biancorossoazzurri do not, however, have an easy test ahead: they face a Cailungo in excellent form, coming into the game on the back of three consecutive victories and now firmly targeting Domagnano’s position, no longer as distant as it was a few weeks ago.

As for the Wolves, for them the Monday of Matchday 26 will be the day of the showdown with the league leaders. Murata await them in the late game in Dogana, determined to stretch their winning streak to five, even though the reigning champions can today feel relatively comfortable up in the penthouse of the Single Group, holding a nine-point cushion over the chasing pair. There is, however, every reason to believe that Max Spada will not tolerate any drop in concentration, not least because Domagnano can prove a tricky opponent precisely because they are wounded by their recent defeat to Juvenes Dogana, which has significantly dented Gasperoni’s side’s prospects in the battle for sixth place. Also in Dogana, but at 20:15, Pennarossa will try to rebel against a recent trend that has seen the Chiesanuova side lose each of their last three outings, a run that has probably dealt a fatal blow to their hopes of reaching the Fab Four lounge and that has also brought them dangerously close to Folgore. On the other side of the barricade, a Tre Fiori side only slightly better off (two defeats rather than three) and in desperate need of points to reignite their push for the postseason.

The current benchmark for Bugli’s men is Libertas, four points ahead of them and, after their bye week, ready to chase a second straight win. Facing them will be a Cosmos side that has recently bounced back from a double defeat and are now determined to find consistency and put pressure on their two “cousins”, Folgore and Juvenes Dogana. The clash between the Granata and the Gialloverdi will be the only indoor fixture on the schedule: it will be played at the Multieventi Sport Domus, again on Monday evening (22:00). In the reverse fixture the two sides met in the same venue and served up a spectacular 5-4 in favour of Cosmos. Finally, at 21:45 in Fiorentino, La Fiorita will go in search of a third consecutive victory against a Fiorentino side in full-blown results crisis and that has slipped dangerously far from the positions that would guarantee Screti’s men a future beyond Matchday 30.
