Futsal: La Fiorita and Tre Fiori share the points, Fiorentino run riot in first-ever indoor match
The very first indoor match in the history of the Campionato Sammarinese di futsal ends with a wide scoreline, though not far off expectations. It was a top-versus-bottom clash between bottom side Cailungo and a Fiorentino side fully focused on reclaiming top spot alongside Folgore, and it finished 14-1, a result effectively wrapped up by Michelotti’s players already in the first half. At the interval the score was already into double figures: Busignani opened the evening at the Multieventi with goals in the 3rd minute and again a minute later for a 2-0 lead, which was then swelled by braces from Ercolani, Gasperoni and Moretti, as well as another from Busignani, who struck again in stoppage time. Amid this heavy attacking output from the rossoblù came an own goal by Venerucci. In the second half Fiorentino eased off a little. That did not stop Michelotti’s side from continuing to push for goals, with Busignani adding two more (five for him on the night) and Giacobbi also on target, before Venerucci grabbed a late consolation goal. The Folgore-Fiorentino duo at the top therefore remains unchanged, while just behind them, Tre Fiori and La Fiorita see their winning streaks halted as their head-to-head finishes 2-2. It was a fiery encounter in Acquaviva, with Verri opening the scoring to send Tre Fiori into the break in front. Mariotti’s straight red for retaliation handed a numerical advantage to La Fiorita, which Giuccioli capitalised on expertly. The restored parity was broken again midway through the second half when Boschi struck to restore Tre Fiori’s lead. The captain himself then saw red late on, this time for a second booking. La Fiorita once more found themselves a man up and, as before, did not let the opportunity slip. The author of the 2-2 – a scoreline that remained unchanged to the final whistle – was Esposito, on target in the 2nd minute of added time.
Between the two sides cancelling each other out, it is Domagnano who profit, returning to winning ways with a resounding 7-2 over Tre Penne. It was the Wolves who broke the deadlock: in the 9th minute Marcucci made it 1-0 from a corner routine, before Morri and Menghi stretched the gap between the 13th and 15th minutes. Shortly afterwards, a Contato own goal forced by Morri made it 4-0 to Domagnano, a scoreline Dinatale tried to bring back into question in the final 10 minutes of the first half. After the break Domagnano cooled off a little and Tre Penne took advantage to claw back another goal, again through Dinatale. A two-goal lead was not enough for Mussoni’s men, who immediately resumed their onslaught, managing to extend their advantage through Lorenzo Bollini and, in the closing stages, Cavalli and Davide Dolcini. Domagnano gain two points on Tre Fiori and La Fiorita and move above Juvenes-Dogana in the standings. Now the Wolves have just a few hours to recover their energy: tomorrow evening sees the final rearranged fixture from Matchday 15, with Domagnano facing Pennarossa.
