Futsal: Libertas return to winning ways, another draw for Virtus and Murata say thank you

Juvenes-Dogana peg back Virtus at the death and allow Murata to draw level at the top of the table. That is the coup de théâtre of Matchday 9 in the futsal league: a second consecutive draw for the Neroverdi and a summit that now has to be shared with the reigning champions, who, moreover, will be Michelotti’s side’s opponents in next Monday’s big match. As for last night, the outcome of the second game in Dogana was a spectacular 3-3 draw. Juvenes opened the scoring on 5 minutes through Gatti, with Cevoli replying within 7 minutes. Simone Celli restored Juvenes’ lead for Cellarosi’s men, who were caught at the start of the second half by Pasqualini. Late on, Mattia Cavalli appeared to land the three-point blow for the league leaders, but not so: Juvenes went with the flying goalkeeper and, in added time, Gatti scored again to complete his brace and make it all square for good. As mentioned, that result puts a big smile on Murata’s face, with the Bianconeri able to deal with Faetano without too much trouble.

The clash between Bianconeri and Gialloblù ended 6-0, with Moretti opening the scoring after just 2 minutes and Morri, De Angelis and Busignani all adding to the tally before the change of ends. After the interval came a brace from Mattioli to underpin Max Spada’s side’s return to victory – and to the top. But Murata are not the only ones smiling. As on the previous matchday, Tre Penne have chipped further away at the leading positions. If against Domagnano Penserini’s team took all three points thanks to a single goal, yesterday they opened the floodgates against hapless San Giovanni, swept aside 11-0. The balance lasted 9 minutes; then Gabrielli, Gamba and Ercolani scored in quick succession, giving the Biancoazzurri a three-goal cushion that grew in the final 8 minutes of the first half, when Gabrielli struck again and, unfortunately for him, Podeschi put through his own net. Gamba made it a brace early in the second half, starting a lull that ended in the final 10 minutes, when Sabatino (who completed a hat-trick), Giovagnoli and Littera all found the net. It is a fourth consecutive win for Tre Penne, still followed three points back by La Fiorita, who returned to winning ways at the expense of Folgore. The latter raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Casali, Bacciocchi and Ottaviani, before Pietrangeli’s men regrouped and completely turned the game on its head. Matteo Chezzi and Cecchini struck in the closing stages of the first half to make it 3-1 and 3-2, then Giuccioli and Pellegrini enabled Montegiardino to complete the comeback. And it did not end there: a Pazzaglia own goal and a second from Matteo Chezzi gave La Fiorita further breathing space, before Pellegrini – also with a brace – wrapped it up in added time after Folgore’s final flourish from Ballarini.

Folgore lose their share of the table position with Domagnano, who are back picking up points, albeit not as many as they would have liked. The meeting between the Wolves and Cosmos finished 1-1, a scoreline shaped entirely in the first half: Bacciocchi with the early opener for Franchino’s side (one of many ex-players on show) and Pascucci with the leveller. Cosmos can take some comfort from having taken a point off Folgore, but they also have to note Libertas drawing level with them. The Granata ended a long points drought with a 4-1 win over Fiorentino, who slipped to a fourth consecutive defeat. The star of the night was Selva, who scored three of Levani’s men’s four goals. The first came on 8 minutes, swiftly followed by the one for 2-0. Para pulled one back 10 minutes into the second half, shortly before Fiorentino goalkeeper Guerra was involved in the incident that led to a penalty. Guerra was sent off and Selva was deadly from the spot. In the closing stages Fabbri made sure of the victory that allowed the Granata to move above Juvenes-Dogana. It was also a win that brought an overtake for Cailungo, who beat Tre Fiori in the only indoor match of the evening and climbed to 11th place, leaving Faetano behind them. There was certainly no shortage of goals at the Acquaviva sports hall: Cailungo went ahead immediately through Meloni, who was later joined on the scoresheet by Podeschi with Tre Fiori’s equaliser at the end of the first half. Berardi put Tre Fiori 2-1 up at the start of the second half, only for Flammini to cancel it out straight away. The game sparked back into life – indeed, it caught fire – in the final 6 minutes. Cailungo regained the lead through Meloni, Tre Fiori replied with Crescentini. Antonelli made it 4-3 to the Rossoverdi, a lead further extended by Meloni’s third of the night. In added time Tre Fiori were awarded a 10-metre free-kick: Crescentini stepped up, La Monaca saved.
